Monica Rambeau Thread

You think Monica will get another push in the comics because of wandavision and the upcoming Captain Marvel 2?

Also, other than nextwave and the ewing avengers books, any other good recs for her?

Maybe they'll give her to Ewing again for a miniseries, since he was the one who brought her back.

nextwave, right
why is that a thing anywhere outside the nextwave parody universe

No, because she's more popular than Carol Danvers ever was and they're afraid of her overshadowing their pet character.

>good recs for her?
Her appearances in Roger Stern's Avengers.

I hope not. Bring back Mar-vell.

She got in and out of Wanda's field 3 times... and that somehow gave her godlike abilities?

I'm not following.

It's been semi-canon for a long time, and a while back was firmly cemented as being canon, by explaining that the Nextwave crew were the actual 616 character who were temporarily abducted into an alternate universe for the amusement of some Beyonder-tier memesters.

NEXTWAVE MINI-SERIES NOW. They know what we want.

It was in ewing's mighty avengers. Beyond Corporation.

I like the little reference to this outfit

I hope for a new cistume without cape, because we need to se her great ass
And a new hair cut, I hope Disney chooses a black artists and writer to not make the same mistake with Miles Morales

Her hair is better as is. Braids are ugly

Why?
I mean what was the need to make her a superhuman like the comics?
And its the most lazy way possible, makes it look like a joke.

So they can kill off Brie Larson and replace Captain Marvel with someone likeable.

>years later and he's still seething

sad

The Roger Stern Avengers run where she was first used (after he introduced her in a Spider-Man annual) was great.

And her two McDuffie one-shots are definitely worth a read.

Monica is pretty iconic for her natural hair, upbraided or very little braids.

you want braids, Dr. Ceila Reyes
You want afro, Misty Knight

>retcons and redesigns to line up with the MCU
>second fiddle to Carol
>given to shitty writers who likely never read her past appearances
It was nice enjoying Monica while she lasted.

I hope feige understands that women like to change their clothes and hairstyle
>Braids are ugly
black women love braids is part of the culture

So is leaving their hair natural, and it looks better.

Her molecular structure is being rewritten every time she passed through and final pass was her versus whatever Wanda did to the barrier when she expanded it. For all we know everyone in that town will get powers or their children will get powers passing through that barrier if they don't already have them.

They pretty much spelled it out when they showed that reality was being rewritten with Monica's clothes. Her bullet proof vest turned into an ultra fine skirt

Monica entering and leaving the Hex permanently rewrote her at a cellular level
She's become energy because light and radio signals seem to be the only things that can enter and leave the Hex

Also probably a certain degree of Monica having wanted glow-hands like Carol all her life and the Hex granted her wish

I would mind that much if this became her standard outfit

But why do it in such a lazy way?

>shit monicafags actually believe

Give this outfit a little superhero flair, ditch the sword logo and replace it with the Photon or Spectrum logos, and we're golden.

How did Monica originally get her powers?

But Monica has nothing to do with Carol. Hell, she didn't even know who Captain Marvel was to begin with.

Exposed to alien energy from a weapon.

let's hope not

Not him but is there a reason they change how some characters get their powers, not just in the MCU but live action in general?
