politely stop, only recently did we get KFC and SubWay I think is out of the market because too expensive.
The problem these fast foods have is that they are entering a market with few but established players.
Hesburger is the most widespread fast food joint in the country so they can leverage the amount of locations to have the cheapest burgers.
McDonalds has only a handful locations but their brand power lets them also keep relatively low prices.
There was a joint called Subburger which was okayish but I don't know how they are doing in the pandemic.
BK came in and they advertise their big burgers which start at like 5.25.
They don't put the Hamburger which is 1 euro front and center, I didn't even know they had one.
They also have pretty shit location in Akropole, a shopping center they opened up in, with you having to climb to the second floor and walk past a KFC before you get to it.
They either need new locations or change their marketing because I am not sure if they will have staying power once the novelty wears off
I could only find ones from 2014, but I am pretty sure they have not changed much, maybe Hesburger/Megaburger costs a few cents more.

Its price point is a bit higher if I'm not mistaken, going more for restaurant quality than fast grub. Poland has huge competition between fast foods so I guess it's the reason. BK was already pushed out of the market once and they closed down their Polish branch but came back to try their luck again. Still it's not very popular as compared to McD and KFC here.

Parents moved here because of good study opportunities for the specific things they wanted to do and then immediately found jobs + Kaunas is like 85km closer to all their family and childhood friends than Vilnius.

This might seem like a trivial distance to a guy from Poland, but I've found that people's ideas of what is far depend on the size of their country and it becomes cultural. Kek. Any distance in Lithuania seems comical to an American or a Russian for example. But here, driving for say more than an hour one way to buy something seems quite bonkers, unless it's some very important item.

As for my older post from today about birth - fuck, I mis-spoke. Almost all of my family tree is from around that area. They were born there.
I was born already in a hospital in Kaunas.
Dad studied in Kaunas polytechnics college, which was a great place for his choice of study - construction engineering. Since the building belongs to interwar Kaunas architecture period, I must post pics :} :

My mom had already finished studying and started working in Kaunas when I was born and dad was finishing up his studies. Right after studies my dad was recommended as a skilled student to a new construction company that was growing insanely fast in Kaunas and immediately was given a job(this is very soon after re-establishment of independence).
