I’ve never seen evidence that Steve Martin was particularly smart. His comedy definitely isn’t.

Jerry Seinfeld is actually very smart, though I’ll grant you that his comedy isn’t. He is the most unlike other comedians. Other comedians all make fun of his work, but also admit that the guy is a genius because he has perfected the perfect formula for normie audiences. It’s rare that a man can understand people he despises so well.

Tracy Morgan can be funny if someone does all of the writing for him. Just never let him adlib.

Bill Maher isn’t stupid, but his insane ego sometimes causes him to throw out his objectivity. Particularly when he’s scared of losing face on his show.
