why did Nedry do it? He had his dream job

Wasn't it hinted at he was in a shitload of debt or a gambling addict or something? Money was the motivation.

He was literally bribed my man

test

He put in a low bid for the job and was being overworked for what he takes home. It's clear he has financial difficulties of some sort, feels disrespected by Hammond, and is frankly a bit of a smug jackass, so he was an easy target for the predatory opposition.

They didn't take him seriously at his job. Nothing dreamy about that.

He felt he deserved more money and respect than Hammond gave him. He was a brilliant engineer, and would be the king of /g/ if he was real. Definitely an archfag. Hammond would change scope and function last minute and have unrealistic expectations and deadlines. Nedry didn't have enough time to do any testing, and often had a minor failure, Hammond would shit on him. Instead of respect for a bespoke system that encompassed a DNA database and search function, accounting, security, life support, all managed and mostly written by one man, he was shat upon by a midget from the UK.

So, Nedry unleashed dinosaurs on children when he had enough like all of us would do.

>Anagram of Nerdy

Bravo Spielberg!

The vending machines were notoriously understocked

Thankless overworked underpaid computer job or 1.5 million. If you adjust for inflation it's close to 3.

Nedry in the book is treated a lot worse than Nedry in the film, since book Hammond is a petulant brat and his staff are all sociopaths. Overall the movie is miles better than the boom, but it could have done a better job establishing why Nedry didn’t like the company.

Who else thought Nedry was Hammonds son for the longest time?

Dobson?

In the novel, he was badly paid and pretty lazy. That's why he took the robbery job in the first place, more money.

He is, he calls Hammond dad

it's not explained well in the movie at all. i didn't even know their was a damn book

And wasn't he gonna have some cushy job with the new company too?

That's sarcasm. As a kid it obviously went over my head.

>He had his dream job
He bid himself too low and Hammond took full advantage. it's nedry's fault for being a retard

>As a kid it obviously went over my head.
Children typically do not understand sarcasm until later stages of development.

You should always treat your employees nicely.
