Finished Max Heart. Even though it was kinda slow and boring at times I still had fun with it. Don't know why /pc/ considers it one of the worst seasons, I didn't find anything offensively bad. I'd at least put it above FW's second half.

A combination of factors just tells me that it's Laura or just no mid-season Cure at all like Smile.

The mid-season Cure is usually not a normal human because they need some sort of dramatic story to justify being the mid-season Cure. Otherwise they just fade into the background like Itsuki, or live tied by the hip to another character like Emiru to Lulu. Yuri had the whole deal with her dad and Dark Precure and Iona had her kidnapped/brainwashed older sister.
