Nardo would've become the Light Hokage and hero everyone looks up to, while Sauce does the dirty work of snuffing out seeds of rebellion and can quarrelings for him in the darkness.

Sounds more like they're ripping off sci-fi concepts of post-human god planet devourers/ultimate culmination of life's evolution, mixed in with the ninjas and mythology. Dragon Ball never had an eldritch horror like this; the closest things were non-canon Tree and Might and Big Ghetti Star. Dragon Ball went with increasingly powerful and absurd echelons of celestial bureaucracy in reference to Buudhist cosmology rather than the sci-fi life-consumer. I guess Moro was kind of on that path at the end but it wasn't really fleshed out. For most of the arc he just became a stronger goatman. I like this new direction
