So what's next for Gotouge after Demon Slayer?

I'm sure Shueisha wants her to start a new manga after the success of Kimetsu. I'm sure she even wants to do it.
But will her next work be as successful? Will it be as popular? Will it even be in Weekly Jump? Maybe she wants to go monthly, who knows?

It's kinda like MAR - it's supposedly "good" but nobody gives a shit about it. Fairy Tail had better characters and it was better than Rave. Demon Slayer was all the minute substance the author barely had and put it on paper to give you Demon Slayer. That's the best they can do. I know one thing for certain, the quality will be lower, they will rest on their laurels and feel pride for releasing this children's tale. The weebs were ejaculating to meme slayer the moment they saw katanas. Can the new series succeed? Don't ask such a question, people still read one (long) piece. Sure it could, but it will never reach the heights of katana incest man.

Nothing, she can retire from making manga now. Originally she plan to give up on making manga if Kimetsu failed. Now it ended, no reason to continue

It’s their first manga, we literally don’t know if that’s the best they can do, we only know their art can look better when not put on a weekly to week timeframe.
Can it reach KNY level again? Probably not, KNY is an anomaly, the exception not the standard

In my opinion that's wrong, but that would only prove Shonen artists can make better works after a massive hit.

That's straight up wrong in many ways. Yeah, it was rough at the beginning since it was Mashima's first work, but it gets fantastic over the course of its run.
For anyone who has read RAVE or knows about Mashima's story, it's obvious he didn't plagiarize OP. RAVE is just one year older than OP, why would he have it as a reference?.
It's just that both Mashima and Oda had Toriyama as a reference, and both got to similar artstyles at their own for having the same reference.

Retirement. Gotoge's a one-trick ponywhose schlock got carried by Ufotable. It's the ULTIMATE proof that with good animation the show can be shit but people will like it.

Rave showcased how inexperienced Mashima was but it was still a great read, given that the audience for it had to be quite young. The story was better than FT , it really give off the style of Japanese high fantasy of a Final Fantasy.

She wanted to do a sci-fi romcom with a focus on the comedy, didn't she?
Imagine a full series with her weird chibi style. It'd majestic.

I wish she'd do a horror series instead, her pre/early-kimetsu style would work real well with horror I think.
