What was the appeal of this anime
why did they burn the books
What was the appeal of this anime
the most appealing aspect is having the best girl to ever exist in any medium. she wins too
this anime is enjoyable if you imagine that everything that happens has the sole purpose of building the plot up to the point where Manami gets punched in the gut
this anime is enjoyable if you imagine that everything that happens has the sole purpose of building the plot up to the point where kirino gets fucked by her brother
I just thought it was fun, at least until s2 started going full harem. It was one of the first anime I watched so it has a special place for me.
Good taste, that's the reason I enjoyed it as well. I honesty don't really like Kirino myself but compared to that little shrimp dumbfuck Kuroneko and the boring subhuman cunt Manami the ending delivered. The fans of these girls deserve every bit of bullying for being such neurotic creepy faggots.
>What was the appeal of this anime
The same reason they burned the books
>why did they burn the books
For the appeal of the anime
The appeal was that a boring self-insert lead is fallen in love with by many desirable characters, one of whom being a first degree horizontal blood relative.
As far as wish fulfillment harems go, it legitimately has a better plot than most and makes it considerably more plausible that everyone falls in love with him, and explores why they do.
It's however still filled with all the usual problems common to the genre:
>The main character is boring
>The main character is far too dense
>Endless stalling: — everyone can see at the start who the main couple at the end will be, and there is really no in-universe excuse for why it ook so long
It also has it's own unique problem:
>main girl is unsufferable.
>fujo is a literal barashitter
Dunno about others, I just liked liked it as a story about sibling relationship. The dating/incest part I don't particularly care about either way, the harem was really only towards the end of the second season and was reasonably well reasoned as far as harems go, so it didn't offend me.
There needs to be less cheap fetish bait and more focus on the sibling relationship part.
to clarify
>There needs to be less cheap fetish bait and more focus on the sibling relationship part.
I mean that in regards to anime/manga in general, oreimo was actually decent in that respect
It was so obviously whistling it's incest end from the start, however.
The first episode in Krino's room, but the fifth episode when they went on a fake date and Kirino was transparently mad that Kyousuke didn't turn it in into an actual one, was really obvious.
>>It was so obviously whistling it's incest end from the start,
>My Little Sister can't be this Cute!
I'd say that's a big whistle, especially when nobody else can stand the cunt.
>why did they burn the books
What are you talking about?
the nips. they burned the books.
And the fact that incest eroge plays a major part in the plot.
The setup is
>I am a totally average self insert with a beautiful sibling who likes to play sibling incest eroge
What direction could this possibly be taking?
It was a pretty original setup to have an autoandrophile younger female sibling that likes to play sibling eroge in the role of the older male sibling, however.
This series could actually be great if it took more elements from Koi Kaze and purposefully contrasted the idealized doting imoutos of the games with the reality of an normal, imperfect sibling relationship in 3.d. with all it's hurdles.
Koi Kaze was so much better than this.
The whole anime was worth it for this moment. Bitch imouto had it coming.
The anime got into a lot of heat in Japan because they're in the midst of a lack of reproduction crisis, the government was afraid this would glorify incest which would be bad for society.
Ever since this all incest anime/mangas (for casual/normie/broadcasted consumption) have the siblings surprisingly finding out they aren't really siblings in the last episode.
the sexy girls
did nobody ever bring up the fact she was a middle schooler?
I wonder how many people defend Kirino's shitty personality for no other reason than that they like the visual design.
...everyone? Her personality is irredeemable, so I can think of no other reason.
That doesn't necessarily mean there will be any incest. The main plot is that Kirino had a kid crush on her onii-chan, then the cunt Manami fucked with her head and turned her brother into a lazy fag, and now they have to unfuck the mess she created. You could leave 3/4 of the show completely unchanged and end it with them resolving their issues and just being good siblings and it would seem perfectly natural. Hell, even as it is, they're still acting grossed out when it comes to doing anything lewd. A 14 year old looking to her older brother for emotional support isn't really anything weird and it certainly doesn't mean she wants to fuck him.
>"you can't shag your brother, that's immoral"
>fucking with her head
How could you possibly conceive it this way? Kirino was in the wrong from the very beginning.
This artist was great until they started doing weird shit like choking.
the oreimo stuff is his peak
That ignores
>That Kirino is close to addicted to playing incest simulators
>That Kirino is constantly looking for excuses to have fake dates with Kyousuke
>That Kirino was really jealous and it really hurt when Kyousuke was going out with Kuroneko
>That many characters around them are making comments that heavily suggest they can see the sexual tension between them
Sure, it can end on a platonic non-incest ending that didn't go there, but then it would be an abandoned plot thread and everyone would ask “So okay, how about the obvious attraction Kirino is feeling for Kyosuke, wil that ever get a satisfactory answer?”
One Week Friends did that quite successfully however. The series constantly hinted at a mutual attraction between them in various ways but the ship never sailed and it worked quite well how it did it.
