Hear me out though, I said anime, not manga. Only because of the amount of love and effort in the way Madhouse adapted it. The animation was excellent, the sound design and score were excellent, the voice acting was excellent. It's not the best arc in all mediums, or in manga, just in anime.

Yeah I agree but if we compare adaptation of other manga arcs Chimera Ant probably got the most love, right? Best manga arcs in my opinion would probably be Narutaru's last 2 arcs, Chapter Black arc, the Stalking Shadows arc in NBF.

The sound design and score are almost identical to the other seasons, this makes no sense. HxH's OST is one of its biggest problems.

CA has a ton of glaring issues anyhow, from the poor pacing to the narration to Kite's hamfisted backstory to the way the anime prolonged the arc even further before the castle invasion. Even the infamous Gon scene just looks like shit compared to the original panels. They do a very poor job of showing the intensity of Gon's inner conflict and opt to shade more darkly with the same upbeat music... just awful. And I say this as a huge HxH fag.
