just beat yakuza 5
so that was the worst final boss in the series in terms of story, right? His fight was great, but his reasoning/place being the final boss was absolutely terrible
>why are you here
>lol i dunno let’s fight
I really hope they don't go through with some of those visual changes in the Judgment remaster.
what changes?
Kenzan's is the worst in both the story aspect and the gameplay aspect. He's not even in the story outside of a single cutscene or even talked about until he's the final boss and his fight is easily one of the worst by far. He just spends the entire fight playing keep away and taking potshots at you, it completely deflates the awesome battle an hour before him.
The game's got its own unique sort of look to evoke a detective sort of drama. They instead backported 7's lighting and called it a day and it looks awful.
Eh, I think I'd still give it to Munakata. He works as an actual antagonist in the story, but to be the final boss? A feeble old man who takes potshots with a pistol while his guards do the actual fighting? It just doesn't fit.
what the fuck... no...
I find it pretty bullshit that the new consoles can't handle the older look with a higher framerate. I mean, come on. The lighting can't be that demanding, right?
I KNEEL MUNAKATA-HAN
The worst part is it costs full price even if you own the PS4 version, it's not a free update like 7 is.
it looks completely fine in 7, though i guess that's because the entire game was built around it.
here it just doesn't suit any of the scenes they've shown in the trailer.
They made Kimura much much younger on PS5 for whatever reason, framerate looks much better though, but some decals and particles look better on the PS4 ver.
This shot looks pretty good, at least, so maybe the whole game won't like shit. They have a little over two months to make any fixes to the presentation, so here's hoping.
I think its some shit like switching to an entire new lighting system just because its new instead of what worked with the game. Like how DMC5SE on ps5 adds raytracing but because the game was never designed with it some cutscenes actually look worse if you turn RTX on. And then assassin’s creed’s remasters replaced the baked lighting with dynamic lighting which fucks the cutscenes because they never were meant for the modern asscreed lighting.
Ancient tree armor turns the Munakata fight from assrape to an absolute massacre
Walking up to the old feeble fuck and then subsequently breaking every bone in his body after disposing of his bodyguards felt fucking incredible
>And then assassin’s creed’s remasters replaced the baked lighting with dynamic lighting which fucks the cutscenes because they never were meant for the modern asscreed lighting.
I'm still mad about AC3R you have no idea. The degree that they ruined the best assassination is insulting.
This n word is based
What is the best way to beat this fucker??
>Like how DMC5SE on ps5 adds raytracing but because the game was never designed with it some cutscenes actually look worse if you turn RTX on.
Exactly, but at least DMC5SE gave you the option to use the pre-baked lighting from the original game, on top of all the other improvements.
Grind battle arena
For how long? I'm already level 41 with my mains, and have gotten to floor 15.
My first attempt at the boss I was 35 and got rekt.
Now I can at least get his fat friend to join the fray
I've heard that anywhere from lvl 45-50 are good enough to tackle Majima. I fought him when I was 53-ish with most of my party, and I came out okay.
this is why I hated this part of the game. First you have to grind for 3 Million yen, then you have to grind your level up. The difficulty spikes in this shit were too high.
Finish the whole thing before you go to the Omi HQ.
41 should be more than enough, pop peerless resolve and have Saeko gradually heal your team
>First you have to grind for 3 Million yen, then you have to grind your level up.
I kinda just thought the game was punishing me for just going to the business minigame instead of grinding the 3 mil the "Right" way desu
My healer is Kasuga.
I run Kasuga, Emi (The cookie girl) the korean guy, and the ex cop
What are their jobs?
>Kiryu lets Date watch Haruka
>AGAIN
I find it funny that date canonically has the moveset of a generic thug. Playing as him in kiwami’s ultimate is hilarious.
>gets on the helicopter and achieves nothing
Isn't it called "You Can do it, Date-san" or something like that?
I never did the business management, and I mostly just sold valuables to easily make the money. I think I made more than 1 mil off of one item, I forgot which one it was.
The actual worst part is the PC version not having a release date because of a fucking Stadia deal.
>write her out of the story so Kiryu can keep banging hostesses
>he's still considered a virgin anyway
I miss her bros
So I ended up really liking Y4R. More than 3. I 100%ed Y0. YK, and YK2 but I just got all the achievements in Y3R and called it a day.
I'm cleaning up the heat moves at the moment. I'm looking at the guide and for Tonfa Abuser I need to fight a Tonfa user as Tanimura. Where can I find one? Anyone here know?
I just beat Kiwami for the first time and feel absolutely empty
Sayama got burgered and fridged and banging hostesses is not canon
It is fucking sad
You still have like 6 games after that
She is eating burger dick now.
A shame, she was very very hot.
I
She's in the shadow realm now. She's never coming back.
Just beat Yakuza 7 feel completely lost in my life now, made me tear up desu
It's just wild to go back to 0 and see all of the characters that die in it and the next game. It's like 90 percent of the cast, I swear.
Fucking women, man.
Saejima is an absolute monster.
Anyone else find it hard to like Eri?
She’s cute and all but her not showing up any any story cutscenes make me not want to use her.
I get that she’s optional, but couldn’t they have it to where she’s standing in the background? Kinda like how adachi was just kinda awkwardly standing there in the sujimon introduction cutscene while the characters only acknowledge Ichiban and Namba.
>everyone is literally hanging from the ceiling waiting for death
>Eri just looks at them
I've seen people say that it's best to just regard any business part of Yakuza as a separate reality since it breaks the plot when Ichiban is a billionaire and has one of the biggest zaibatsu in Japan but still has to scramble to get money.
If Kaoru wasn't written out, then the events of 5 and 6 might have been completely different. Giving Haruka a maternal figure would have made her less stupid in making decisions.
>it's best to just regard any business part of Yakuza as a separate reality
Or something that happens postgame.
To be fair, you could become a trillionaire in Yakuza 0 with Kiryu. You literally could have bought the loyalty of thousands of men and resolved the conflict that way.
No self respecting person gets together with someone raising someone else's kids. That's double cuckening right there.
Get closer to level 50 if you can.
Make sure to rotate jobs and learn shared skills, especially fortune teller for lightning and musician for Endless Love.
Majima's weakness is poison. Use either Joongi's poison bottle or dealer's magic hat skill to apply poison (experiment ahead of time to see which is stronger for you. The newest one replaces the oldest, even with weaker damage)
Once Majima is poisoned, fight him. I think he takes regular damage from blunt.
When his pal joins the fight, DO NOT ATTACK SAEJIMA. Focus on Majima. If Saejima takes any damage he powers up for the rest of the fight.
make sure Ichiban has protection from death because he'll get fucked by a special move near the end.
>THE BILLION DOLLAR EMPTY LOT
>make 5 billion by beating up some buff dudes
What’s considered the best job for each character in 7?
FFFFFRIDAY NIGHT MOTHERFUCKER
Their default, except for Nanba who works better as a host. But leveling the others gives you stat bonuses and skills so you should get those as well.
They squandered 7's story. They had an interesting premise with needing to take down the villain politically, but then they run out of time and decide to do a scheme that required too many coincidences and a magic shapeshifter to get him to self incriminate.
There is no way Aoki stays dead. Somebody will have faked his death and removed him from the hospital. Otherwise it's astoundingly stupid for him to have died to a pocket knife in the intestine when he literally had someone to carry him to medical care immediately.
>Majima's weakness is poison.
I have a poison shot or poison stab with the korean guy but he NEVER SEEMS TO BE POISONED
Still the hardest boss in Yakuza history
I legit could not beat him on Hard without upgrading Dragon to the point where I had Tiger Drop. I'm convinced that nobody playtested that fucking boss and that everyone at RGG knew it was bullshit. He doesn't show up in any of the climax battles, which further proves my point.
>Ichiban
Hero (His best job) or Breaker if you want to get a bit unconventional.
>Adachi
The bench never to be used again. If you want to be serious then Detective, Enforcer (Best), or Foreman. He can also use Musician but because of how buffs work only the positive buffs do anything.
>Nanba
Host (Due to two fantastic essences and Fortuneteller's Fulminator Forecast means he can cover every element), Homeless, and Fortuneteller (Not really worth it but high electric damage).
>Saeko
Idol. She's a mage so she can use Hostess but it's a bad job, and Barmaid is horrible.
>Eri
Dealer. If you're on Normal then Clerk is also viable but on Legend Clerk goes out the window because Thumbtack Scatter does less damage than Darts Airstrike and Essence of Nunchuks is so-so compared to Darts Airstrike.
>Han
Hitman (Normal) or Enforcer (All difficulties). Enforcer is absurd on him and there's no reason never not to be it. He's the best party member in the game due to his attack and agility and as an Enforcer he gets absurd turn priority paired with high damage across the board.
>Zhao
Gangster or Breaker. Breaker's more to take advantage of his high attack stat and add some agility onto him while Gangster is mainly for Essence of Jackie Chan spam.
Seriously though, as soon as you can get someone better bench Adachi, his agility is awful and being a tank in a game where you either don't need one (Normal) or you die in two to three hits no matter what (Legend) he's pointless. He also has no positives going for him in the stats department and his low agility means he gets so few turns compared to everyone else.
majima
get to the top
he was kinda easy with items + rush mode
How the FUCK did he make it back? Did Park teach him how a safe works finally?
Never played Yakuza games before. Should I emulate the PS2 versions of 1 and 2, or should I play the Kiwami remasters? I asked before what the differences are between the two versions but instead got a bunch of autistic screeching instead.
I don't see the reason to go back to original 1 and 2 and I played them.
Just go 0-K1-K2-3-4-5 and then wait on 6 or play 7; either is fine.
K2 to 3 IS a rough downgrade, but I still found 3 to be fine. 4 and 5 are both great, though.
Just another lame yakuza with daddy issues, the series has a few final bosses exactly like that who don't get complained about as much only because the identity twist around this guy is also separately dumb in its own right I guess
Kiwami versions are remakes that are intended as 0 sequels. They are not meant to be played in lieu of 1 and 2 on PS2 unless you have played 0. Kiwami 2 outright spoils 0's ending in the Majima Saga.
It just feels wrong to me to gimp Eri up like that.
Fan demand
no, I don't mean "why is he in the game" because I like the fucker a lot too, but how did he make his money back after what happened at the end of 4? Was it rubber money?
Man the plot in 4 is retarded so far
When they stole his 100B he said he could make it back again but was still upset
eternal supply of gambling cheat items.
He got it back, though. When he goes down to the office he sits in his chair and stares at his money. And he offers the give the Asian immigrant a loan if she lets him name her baby.
I'm still mad.
And I named him DB for Dumpster baby
He knows stonks, he can make money easily from scratch again.
Just got through 3, I'm actually impressed. Everybody always acts like it's the rotten apple in the series and I too at first was put off how rancid it is compared to 2K or 7, obviously, but after getting used to the stiff animations, I must say this game is way more ambitious than the other parts I played so far.
The actual thing that pisses me off though is that I have to play through the story two other times now because some asswipe thought it's a good idea you can only unlock legend on hard.
They should've kept him. Made him look Mexican.
Become an idol
Y4 final boss is worse because it's Jingu 2.0 except you're playing as Tanimura who is ten times worse to play as than Kiryu.
Tanimura was the worst boss in 4 because of those parries
he's worse yeah but you can cheese him like any other bosses by just downing staminans. If you do that in Yakuza Kiwami you'll run out way before you kill Jingu and his guards because they do monstrous damage also you'll have none for Nishkiyama but he's easy
It would be nice if 6 was retconned
why not retcon 5 as well?
Because it's a great game and best in the franchise with the most content and on the best engine (aka the same one as 0 and Ishin).
atleast the gameplay and story is good
till the last part plus Shinada is a chad. Also fun minigames it was just the Haruka shit that ruined it. Also the final boss was boring as fuck. Yakuza 6's gameplay is ass the story is ass everything about it is ass. Hiroshima is nice to look at though
5's only real problem is it's pants on head retarded end. 6 is a whole different can of worms. You have to redo it entirely or straight up pretend it doesn't happen.
it can keep the content, but that story was okay and some characters were done a disservice, and I think we can all agree that the ending is awful.
Does any1 have the gif of purple Kiryu dancing back and forth?
>ending is awful
>5's only real problem is it's pants on head retarded end
Absolute smoothbrain take.
The mastermind is actively present throughout the entire game, just because you're too retarded to put 2+2 together is entirely on you.
>BBBUT AIZAWA!!1!1 WE SHOULD BE FIGHTING MASTERMIND
Oh yeah, because it would totally make sense to fight an old dude with terminal cancer and not his extremely /fit/izen son who fights in his stead.
Seriously neck yourselves.
In which game can I punch sea creatures?
I don't care about 5 final's boss.
I'm talking about what Harkua did. You know the retarded speech at the end that practically torched everything Kiryu did for her?
>AIZAWA
no one even mentioned him. smoothbrain.
Aizawa is part of the ending, faggot. Everyone always bitches about him even though it makes perfect sense for THE SON OF THE MASTERMIND to INHERIT THE MASTERMIND'S WEALTH AND PLANS and FIGHT FOR THE MASTERMIND'S KEIKAKU
Half of the series stories could have been resolved half way if Majima wasn't such a lazy shit but I guess you need a dramatic plot.
It doesn't suck because you fight aizawa, it sucks because aizawa sucks ass
But Aizawa is literally the best boss the series had since Ryuji. He's extremely well done as a boss fight, with multiple phases, great dynamic intro and QTEs and robust, varied moveset.
Aizawa was a lame fight. And damage sponge.
I agree but from a story standpoint he sucks ass and the ending is what the other anons were arguing about
Let's get this thread to the top
You didn't play the game or don't remember him.
He's superior to:
Nishiki
Mine
Munakata aka Jingu 2.0
Little Baby Iwami
that baby bitch from 7
What exactly sucks "from a story standpoint" when literally every single plot point is massively telegraphed and properly set up with Chekov's Gun earlier in the game?
Mastermind is set up since the very start of the game, as is Aizawa and then further reinforced in last part, long before the ending itself.
Explain to me what is illogical about the son of the mastermind fighting for his father's dream?
The entire theme of the game is dreams.
Delete this
He had just about the right amount of hp from what I remember, can't remember how strong I made Kiryu by that point though. Less damage spongy than 3's guys but more than 4's who went down too quickly imo (Munakata aside which was longer for a different reason)
I actually feel like a retard now for not going enforcer with Han seeing how electric prongs is probably the most broken male attack.
Try to consider others feelings some time tripfaggot.
I'm still miffed that Eri fucked up the best song in the series and not even Ichiban could save it.
Mine is better.
>low health
>only 1 moveset
>no phases
>better
user please don't be retarded
>only 1 moveset
But he has three.
What about Dealer for Saeko?
I did that and he was OP as fuck. Still first to go, immortal because block, and lol electric attacks.
I REALLY hope we get another RPG from RGG team even if it's not a Yakzua title.
Adachi's too goddamn cool, though.
Thought she did okay with it
Also thought it didn't matter since Ichiban drowns the whole song with his presence anyway
Awano vs Shubusawa
youtube.com
On Normal it's fine as the stat difference is mostly negligible. On Legend, no, absolutely not. The stat difference is like several hundred damage less.
having cleared everything in the game with Ichi as my healer I really don't think you need Idol. Ichi has buffs, he has heals, you have items, and he does massive damage every turn not healing.
I went Matriarch instead.
At least there's not a trophy that requires you to play through it 3 fucking times, like 5.
yondaime or oji-san?
Idol's more for postgame and Legend in addition to that interim between you not having level 8+ Charisma I think it was. Ichiban on Legend is more of a support and rarely attacks and even he can't typically keep people alive. Idol can also charm the entire team AND can equip the Ribbon which increases the chance for charm to work which is vital on Legend. Status effects and Essences are king on Legend.
why did they killed him in the end?
He "killed" the Omi chairman and had the Tojo Clan deal break apart because of his actions.
Just curious, which jobs did you guys finish your first playthrough with? I did:
>Hero Kasuga
>pic related Adachi
>Chef Nanba
>Idol Saeko
>Breaker Han
>Foreman Zhao
>Night Queen Eri
ah okay. forgot the fat fuck from omi was there with shimano. well, sagawa is no longer alive in the storyline after zero so they have to kill him anyway
Butthurt Omi.
Kazuma
>actually having Nanba in your team
Why? Not only is he mathematically worst party member but he's also a traitor scum, I don't give a shit that he "reforms" later, he's still a traitor which compounded with him being mathematically worst makes him a full retard choice to have.
Eri is garbage from story perspective because it's a secret/bonus character and never shows up in story.
Personally I just had Itchybum, Adachi, Saeko and Korean Vergil in my team.
Bug face secret korean get out reeee
Literally pefect tomboy waifu, it's not fair, I'M SO LONELY AND HORNY
everyone on their exclusive job except for saeko who was stuck on idol. i switched around a lot, but those are the ones i stuck with the most.
when i replay, i'll switch it up with breaker ichiban, and stuff, with little switching.
My error was that I thought it's actually Hitman that gives him the insane amount of turns since he sometimes got outpaced by Seako in the first turn on other jobs during grinding the shithole under Kamarucho for True Final Tokyo Tower.
Should have looked at the stats I guess.
even Andre Richardson is better than Aizawa
The duality of man.
>I don't give a shit that he "reforms" later, he's still a traitor
Nanba didn't kill anyone, last time I checked. Cool your 'tism, guy. Also, I'm gonna use every character because goddammit, that's what they're there for.
Is there anywhere in the game that tells you what each stat is? I still don't know what the fuck "dexterity" means.
lol bitch fucked off to usa for some BBC as soon as she finished her mission. just another in a long line of women to cuck kiryu-chan!
Shut it.
>Oh Look, a Cat!
Dexterity is accuracy. It's pointless on Normal but on Legend you'll notice it's why Han keeps hitting enemies with physical attacks more often than anyone else.
this user gets it
is there an edit of adachi wearing a foxy grandpa hat?
I don't remember any BBC user, might that be your fantasy?
Besides with all the niggers running arround in these games after 2 there would be no need to go to the US for that.
Puresento da saved my ass so many times, it's nuts.
>Pc version will look like ps5
Fuck...
>Explain to me what is illogical about the son of the mastermind fighting for his father's dream?
Isn't he explicitly not fighting for his father's dream, but for his own dream of making it to the top without handouts? Which still makes him a wimp because he was fighting Kiryu when Kiryu had a handicap?
Why was Aizawa in purgatory? Why was he screaming about finding Morinaga when it's later implied he's the one who killed him. I haven't watched the ending in a while, but I feel like Aizawa hesitated when Kiryu asked if he killed Morinaga. Was that supposed to be an indication that he DIDN'T do it, and played coy to try to get Kiryu to fight him? Aizawa is a stupid twist that is very obviously trying to build him up like Nishiki (carp and white suit out of nowhere) and Ryuji (katana that he throws away after getting for no reason) that fails. And for that matter, Akiyama and Shinada's final fights suck too. Akiyama fights the same jobber he did twice before except now he has 15 guys and a knife, and Shinada's encounter with Baba is lame as hell and literally useless. You could've cut the entire fight and nothing would change.
What about agility? I know it's turn frequency, but is it also evasion from attacks?
No clue on if it affects evasion since enemies don't exactly miss that often, and when you're at a point where enemies can start missing frequently you're so overleveled that you have no idea what is influencing it. It's definitely turn priority though.
>Isn't he explicitly not fighting for his father's dream, but for his own dream of making it to the top without handouts
No, he said that it was his dream until that point but since his father's dream is being forced onto him he might as well accept, which is why he stops caring about "making it on his own" and fully adopts his father's plan and fights Kiryu to the death.
>Why was Aizawa in purgatory?
Training for his inevitable confrontation with Kiryu, he even says as much that he's preparing.
>Why was he screaming about finding Morinaga when it's later implied he's the one who killed him.
He genuinely cared about Morinaga BEFORE he realized that Morinaga is a traitor. Once he realizes that Morinaga is a rat he offs him, I feel like most people forget because of how long the game is and you spend time playing as 4 different characters by the time the Morinaga plot comes back so everyone forget that Morinaga ended up being a rat way back in Kiryu's chapter.
I agree about your points regarding the rehashed symbolism and weak Akiyama and Shinada bosses though.
Who had the best dynamic intro and why was it Sawashiro?
youtube.com
I did notice that Eri and Han dodge a lot more shit than anyone else on my normal playthrough, so that's why I was asking.
Meant for My bad.
On my end I didn't really have anyone that wasn't Ichiban dodging much on Normal. Ichiban for some reason kept evading many attacks but everyone else kept getting hit.
How hard is Legend in LaD, purely from a main story perspective (no crazy post-game shit)?
First enemies do 200+ damage each hit. Sawashiro 1 does 450ish. This is with every job at 30 on Ichiban.
Zheng deals like 500 or 600.
Hungry Hungry Homeless deal about 400ish per hit.
Chinatown is webm related. The park is equally as bad if not worse due to the bancho guys.
Combat relies on you spamming Essences and anything that can cause status effects to prevent enemies from ever getting a turn because every enemy gaining a turn is essentially half your health gone on a character. Main story bosses start hard but they get easier and easier as you go along to the point that I was using jobs I wasn't super highly leveled in to beat stuff like M&S onward. The hardest part is honestly everything prior to Hello Work unlocking because you don't have any of the skills or stat buffs until you manually change back into the jobs.
Also keep in mind Ichiban Confections is reset which also means the skills need to be earned all over again by completing it back to rank 1 and the same applies to everyone's bond levels.
Makes more sense. Again, been a while since I marathoned the whole series last year, so a couple of points were lost here and there. However, the last bit about Morinaga still doesn't make sense. He cared about Morinaga, yes, and it's sorta implied he's the one who kills him in his encounter with Kiryu, but if he was the one who killed him it had to have been done BEFORE he was found in Purgatory because he has the fight with Saejima immediately after screaming about finding Morinaga, only to find out after that that he's already dead and found by the police. So he is in Purgatory screaming about finding Morinaga to... who, exactly? Does he think Kiryu will be watching?
Oh, and enemies also have ridiculous evasion which means anything that's not magic or 100% accuracy is off the table unless the enemy is stunned or you use Eri's Shadow Stitch and proc Evasion Down because of it. You will miss like 90% of the time guaranteed.
Here's an example of what the Battle Arena damage looks like on the later floors with everyone at 99 in every job and the best equips.
YAKUZA 7 CRACK WHEN
He's screaming to Saejima, not sure how that's hard to understand, you really need to replay the game
But he's not screaming to Saejima. Saejima is lead in by the Florist to an ongoing fight with Aizawa in it. He's not looking at Saejima, he doesn't know Saejima is there, he's just fighting and screaming about how he needs to find out where Morinaga is to himself.
youtu.be
Ignore the Let's Stream title, there's no commentary.
2spooky5me
Do you keep gaining XP and "leveling up" after you hit 99, or does it just stop completely?
never ever
99 in both job and general levels is the cap. You stop gaining EXP/JP if you're at 99, switching a job will let the JP go towards something again.
99 is the level cap for regular levels and job ranks.
OH shit you're right, I forgot this particular bit since in my memory he screamed about it to Saejima. Anyway there's only 2 options that make sense:
1. Either he finds and kills Morinaga right after this
or
2. He's faking an alibi for himself in a public spot with witnesses
playing DQXI (again) after yakuza 7 and it just makes it all the more obvious just how amaterusih RGG studio was when making this game, Y7 is just insanely badly balanced and the only way they knew how to make battle challenging at all considering you can spam stamina royales pretty early on is by making them huge damage sponges. i hope for a massive improvement by next game and a more sensible money/item/exp/HP economy
fuck Haruka's sidequests; I'm all about dancing with Akiyama
ICHI-OKU
NI-OKU
HYAKU-OKU NO
KISU WO ABISETE YARU
BAYBAY
To be fair, this is the first RPG attempted by RGG as far as I know. It's not realistic to expect the same success as a series veteran. There's bound to be improvement, I'm sure.
i think the core issue comes down to them aiming it towards a non-gamer audience.
yakuza has always been piss easy, but with a turn-based format, pause healing isn't possible, so enemies need to be way weaker than previously (it was that way before, but it's far more apparent here)
i can't see this not being the case if they stick with it for the main games. maybe a spinoff or new IP has a better chance at being harder overall and better balanced, since it won't have to be aimed at boomers who barely play games (i'm also willing to say that there's more people in their teens-twenties that play these games than actual boomers though)
How is it that Ichi only has 1 game and is already the best protagonist?
I absolutely love the game but what it needs is
a) more varied and different boss fights that force you to use different mechanics to deal with them
b) less overpowered items, and no way to get rich early with the minigame breaking the gameplay, orm ake those separate
c) make status moves a lot better and more numerous (bleed/cold/etc feel the same)
d) actual dungeons
thsi game has so much room for improvement and it was still fantastic and is one of my favorite games now . I can't wait for 8
>daigo sells out majima
>majima goes back to the tojo like a good little dog after that
I'd say the money drought at the start played greately into the narrative and made money feel valuable opposed to usually.
The minigame destroyed this, should have unlocked way later in the game when you are actually in need for the jarringly expensive shit.
Jesus I can not get over how terrible that hair looks on Kimura. If I were him, I'd be pretty annoyed about the art team's decision.
>a fucking dragonfish
>make status moves a lot better and more numerous (bleed/cold/etc feel the same)
This, I 100% agree with. I honestly can't tell you the difference between bleeding, cold, and poisoned (other than enemies are able to catch each other's colds if they're close to each other). If anything, it should be like this.
>bleeding stays the same
>cold slows down enemy attacks, making them easier to guard (still contagious)
>poisoned gives the enemy less turns
Fucking lord, I just cannot escape this bullshit even when it only relates to vidya.
Absolute mad dog
where's this from?
Sayama killed someone on screen, anons.
Our pure Kiryu-chan cannot associate with on-screen murderers.
They only had a few months of development time iirc. So considering that it could have been a lot worse. However the combat in Yakuza 7 is pretty fucking bad. The other Yakuza games don't have the greatest combat either but at least the fights are over quickly.
wtf they made the yakuza guy into a real person?
PS5 looks better though, they removed the piss filter.
i enjoyed the combat more than the other dragon engine games, but i still like the combat in the prior engines much more.
i can't see myself sticking around for more turn-based entries, since i'll get burn out hard here.
7's a great game, but it's great because it's a yakuza game, not because of the RPG aspect, if that makes sense.
Why would they do this? Judgement looked fine. Now it looks like some weird Judgement mod for the ps3 Yakuza games.
Maybe it's more optimized with this new lighting? I don't know. Hopefully, some color correction can make it look a little more like the original.
They ported it to the Y7's Dragon Engine which has worse lighting and lower resolution textures for better performance.
Hopefully, they can do something about it, then.
I think Yakuza 5 has ended up being my favorite, second to 0. I've only played 0-5, but the minigames are amazing, the music is pretty good, and the combat and unlocks are great. The idol shit in the middle is novel at best, but I don't think it detracts that much away from the overall game. Haven't played 6 or 7 yet, but I'm pretty sure 3 was the lowest entry so far just because of the mediocre minigames, the combat unlock system, and the fucking car audio in Okinawa's city map.
Yakuza 5's random encounters are insane. I got attacked 3 times trying to walk 10 feet to a store, and one battle started as one ended so I didn't have a chance to slow walk
I just finished the last bit of Haruka's shit and I'm glad it's over even though I'm decent at minigames
FUCK that same song over and over
FUCK shaking hands
and most importantly
FUCK Tset
6 is basically 3 but worse in every way other than graphics
ARE YOU READY GO!
5, Ishin, 0, K1 and FotNS are on the same engine so makes sense you'd like it
The song wasn't that bad, but honestly having a bigger reason to do the minigames was a lot of fun. Got more into fishing and air hockey from the idol schedule thing. The rhythm game was fun too, more fun than kareoke was. It's probably just how the old system worked, but I felt like karaoke in 3-5 had a weird issue where there were too many lines, pace would drastically change, and they had a nasty issue of putting buttons right at the start of a line. Flowed much worse than in 0/Kiwami/Kiwami 2.
PC port is broken, the 60 FPS raise broke some minigames and encounter rate is 2x higher as well
I think I liked 0 and 5 for different reasons though. 0's story was very good, as is Yakuza 5's, but the minigames they revolve (hostess/real estate) and (initial D/hunting/idol/batting) were just a lot of fun and made you want to engage with them for longer periods. The combat unlcok systems are also much different but equally appealing. I enjoyed 4's and Kiwami 2's unlocks the most since you can just skip whatever you don't want, but 5 I think was a good compromise between giving players choice without letting them get too ahead of the difficulty curve.
What was the single biggest asspulll/bullshit moment of this entire series?
I haven't had any issue with any of the minigames but believe the encounter rate is broken. It's nuts.
Akiyama's "safe"
Terada being the mastermind of 2 has to be up there
Kazama's american twin who works for the fucking CIA
Oh no
rubber bullets
rubber knifes
rubber blood
rubber bodies
rubber soul
rubber rubber rubber
It's too bad Haruka didn't know anything about rubber huh
You forgot rubber explosions
Saejima not actually killing 18 people and instead just shooting them with rubber bullets.
how much longer must I suffer
>pirating a RGG game
hopefully forever
yakuza 7 had a very persona like effect on me. Where I begrudgingly started playing the game because someone bought it for me and I felt guilty not giving it a chance. Slogging through the retardedly long and painfully intro to find that the game is actually wonderful and by the time the credits roll finding that I'm sad and didn't want the game to end. Now I'm replaying all the old games
BEURIFUR EYES
to be honest none of the bullshit asspulls make me mad. I've learned to love them
it was on sale for 40 bucks, faggot. just buy it, games's good
>Yumi getting amnesia and instead of just telling her Kazama just lets her fuck some random politician
>Yumi and her sister are actually the same person
Hey, user. Heard about any new girls lately?
That a little girl was walking around Kamurocho and didn't immediately get kidnapped or have the cops called on her
>rushed my way to the end of yakuza 4
>now that i can switch between characters i now want to substories and shit
Im playing on normal how hard is the final encounter what level should i have everyone at and is the mining thing worth finishing on taiga?
Moments that women will never understand
Is Kazama actually as good a person as Kiryu says?
why did he do it again?
woman here, this was awesom. nanba is a true aniki
it improves his unarmed attack damage but it's most worth doing when you're him as easy as you can. His final boss fight is pretty fucking easy, balls out or not.
No, but unlike Kiryu he knew how to run an orphanage well and didn't make everything worse by his indecision.
It's Yakuza, I wouldn't be worried about difficultly if I were you.
No
Even Shimano knew Kazama wasn't the paragon everyone claimed he was.
Kume at the end of 7 was the most bullshit for me. Just when it seemed they wouldn't kill off a villain, he's there for no reason. Yes I get it fits Kume as a character because he's nuts. WHY does he know Aoki would be AT THE LOCKERS FOR NO REASON?
Kume was also there on that day inside another locker, duh
Absolutely not.
kino
he was even more wicked than Shimano
what about the others? which one would you say needs some extra focus on? the cop? I just really dont want to deal with a fucking shitty loop of a boss infinitely dodging/blocking
I didn't do a lot of the substories in 4. I did do the training for everyone, though.
Saejima's fight is piss easy. Akiyama's is also easy. Tanimura's was a nightmare that I had to spam throws against, and Kiryu's was actually a little rough because you can't just Tiger Drop your way past it.
had to pay the price etc. aside from Majima Yakuza is pretty anal about that.
His brother looking and acting like him in 3 reminded me of the fat guy from Beerfest
this Kazama should've been wearing a cowboy hat, too.
Kazama has beautiful eyes
Actual female here. My best guess is that those two men are shaking hands because they just made some sort of business deal. Men do that right? I don't really understand all that business and financial stuff.
>they kept Akiyama's trainer
>he's just as aids to fight as he was in 4
>his rewards are just as shitty
Why would they do this?
I love Yakuza 3 so far
kek wouldn't have been out of place either
>Playing Yakuza 4
>Saejima washes up at the orphanage
>Short moment where it seems like he's about to rape Haruka
What the fuck was the point in that scene? Why?
To trigger normalfags like you.
to set the stage for Haruka being a SLUT who turned red the second a slab of man was top of her
I have a 9 inch penis and Yakuza 3 is my favorite in the series
Devs want people to nut to Haruka during 3/4/5
I have a 12 inch penis and Yakuza DEAD SOULS is my favorite game of all time.
Such a schlong really must prevent the blood from getting oxygen to your brain huh?
Man do I love getting buzzed and playing Yakuza. I barely drink otherwise outside of social situations (not like there have been much over the last 12 months) but man does it hit the spot when running through Kamurocho.
fuck, i miss the trainers, and i wish they still had them.
same with getting moves from various side activities instead of just one of them.
maybe they'll return in 8, but seeing as they've been absent from the games after 0, i doubt it.
Just started Yakuza 0 on gamepass. What am I in for? Know nothing about the series, besides the fact there's quite a few of them. Heard it's a sort of spritiual successor to Shenmue, which I really enjoyed.
Play it and find out
more punching and less looking for the 4 wude
Can someone explain how saejima was captured off screen?
I thought he was as strong as kiryu???
Machine Gun Kiss is the best song in the franchise
Saejima has Kiryu's STR but he lacks Kiryu's DEX, VIT and INT. Like, Saejima is legitimately extremely dumb.
>Namba caused the Yokohama grey zone to literally burn down.
>Everyone:
>"You're Ichiban's friend so we forgive you."
Pure retardation right here.
40 dollars is what I make monthly in this piece of shit third world country so no lol
I loved it but now to many people in these threads like it
Based Burkina Faso user
its more fault of the korean bitch thoe if she had only told him his brother was alive he wouldn't have gone ballistic
>Kiryu
>INT
>literally every decision he makes is wrong
lol
>40 dollars is what I make monthly in this piece of shit third world country so no lol
Holy shit, where are you from, fucking Zimbabwe?
Yakuza 8 leaks
Everything from that point on was Seong-hui's fault. She's lucky she's hot.
>Saejima lacks VIT
>has one of the largest health bars in yakuza
>survived in a super blizzard in just his prison clothes, beat up a bear in the middle of it
How the fuck did that fat fuck get from the outskirts of Soutenburi, an hour away, to wherever Haruka is being held in the time it took Akiyama to beat like 8 mooks down?
US Army Jetplane
I feel like the part in Yakuza 7 where (Chapters 7-9 spoilers) Namba leaves the party was only balanced for 3 party members. The optional party member makes me feel overpowered
is it ok to skip to 7 from 5? i just started 5 and it's really boring me
Eri in general feels like she was added to the game further on in development imo
So Park is Majima's ex.
Guy simply cannot catch a break, can he?
can't believe they nerfed the fucking fishing lads
7 isn't really connected to anything aside from spoiling a few deaths and "deaths" maybe but non of them are surprising anyway not even in the games where they happen so go for it if you have to.
Honestly that was one of the dumbest twists for me, how the fuck did they ever end up together? This was after majima decided to go crazy too
He was in Osaka after the events of 0. They got married 1993 or thereabouts.
what platform? if you make $40 a month then you must have one wild toaster of a pc if that's it
I also heard that she is overpowered as fuck but I am not seeing how since she has the same job list as Saeko, outside of the default job
>Not having 10 mil just sitting around in your pocket when you get asked for 3 mil
>Not being level 53 for the Majima fight just by doing all the side content as it came up and also just doing the battle arena all the way to the top just because you can
The only grinds in this game are for Part-Time Hero stuff, running around in a single area for an enemy that only spawns 50% of the time in a single spot or talking to Omelette approximately 10 million times for the eggs.
Kume happening to be in the vicinity of the lockers at that time is way less of a coincidence than literally every aspect of Masato and Ichiban's coin locker baby birthday.
Her stats are just way more geared towards offense, she hits harder than Saeko does
Kazama VS Arakawa
Who wins?
iirc Saeko has high agility and becomes immortal as a Matriarch. Since that's far and away the best female job, Saeko gets my vote. She's also way hotter.
The non-meme answer is so that Kiryu could watch it happen and figure that Saejima isn't a bad person.
Kazama, arakawa is good, but kazama was apparently such a good assassin that he is credited for dojimas rise to power
Well if his CIA TWIN BROTHER had a kickass theme, so should Kazama. I think Kazama wins by default
We never even saw Arakawa fight
Even at the big fight at the Omi HQ, it doesn't cut to him fighting like it does the others
After playing Yakuza 2 you learn how to love all the retarded plot twists
Who was a worse father?
>He only briefly considered raping a child but didn't go through with it in broad daylight with Kiryu hanging around so he must be a good dude
Good writing
Maybe Jingu wasn't as bad in the original Yakuza. But in Kiwami the Jingu fight is just absolutely atrocious. I played both 4 and Kiwami on hard and I beat Tanimura's final boss on the first try. Meanwhile Jingu absolutely shredded me and after beating him I had no healing items for Nishiki. After Nishiki healed a whole health bar because I refused to grind Majima for the Dragon climax move I quit the game.
Keep trying or increase their magic stat. Once majima is poisoned he stays poisoned for half the fight.
>cautious enough to memorize the order of the hundred of books in his office
>not cautious enough to put some kind of lock or password for his hundred billion yen safe
what the fuck was his problem?
He literally could not give a fuck about how much money he makes or lends
5's big problem to me is that there's too much shit going on. It's all over the place. It's starts off fucking amazing with the Kiryu chapter, then goes to Saejima hunting in the woods, then shifts to shitty dance minigame with Haruka. You play as Shinada whose story, despite being one of my favorites in the series, is almost completely irrelevant to the main plot.
Y5 should've been Kiryu's last game wherein he travels across cities and meets up with everyone along the way and finally disappears at the end. Y6 should be the game with Akiyama, Saejima, Shinada, and probably one other playable protag.
Honestly I didn't mind Jingu fight that much but the sheer amount of fights in Yakuza 3/4/5 where the enemies just block constantly and your guard break options are so pitiful it just made me livid. I wanted Essence of Face Twisting so bad.
>YOU WAN MONEY?
>DANSU FOR ME MONKEY DANSU
>Kiryu is proven time and time again that Daigo can't handle the responsibility he forced on him
>he still refuses to stick with him and help him
Kiryu is a bit of an asshole
Remember guys it's okay to be a coomer like Shinada
As long as you're absurdly ripped with a chad jawline
Mine called Kiryu out on that bullshit, which was kinda neat. Too bad Mine was gay for Daigo
UGH COOTIES
Her high agility combined with Thumbtack Scatter allows you to take out like 2-3 guys on the first move normally, and take out all the enemies if you're lucky and she actually bothers hitting all of them. Ending a battle in a single turn feels great.
I kept on having to stack agility items on her to be able to keep that up, though. I really liked having Han in my party, but he kept out-speeding her and the enemies would be too spread apart for Thumbtack Scatter to be that effective by the time he was done.
It’s not even how they get together(still why was a tojo clan officer in omi territory), majima and park aren’t compatible at all
Even if Mine was fueled by homolust, I still think it would have helped Daigo a lot for him to live. I think it would have helped Daigo endure Kiryu's half-assed support of he had someone capable with him who's truly "in his corner". Like, even when people like Majima are helping Daigo, they're doing it for Kiryu moreso than Daigo himself.
when someone gets shot or stabbed in yakuza it means "we don't know what to do with this character, we will decide it in the next game"
yeah imagine if Kiryu actually helped Mine deal with Wesker and prevented his suicide instead of just sitting there hugging Daigo
I just started his chapter and I don't like his fighting style or him. It's going to be a loooong 4 chapters.
last point is fixed with mods, i didnt even notice that fucking audio at first
nexusmods.com
>child
Resetera get ye gone
Of course he wasn't a good person, he was a fucking Yakuza hitman. It's just that isn't the point. He's Kiryu & Nishki's de-facto dad. That's what actually matters here.
Kiryu just get Taichi into the Tojo
Sorry, I think there might have been a misunderstanding here -- when that user said "women" they were probably saying it in reference to cis women.
>kiryu just stands there and watches as le rubber bullet man pops a cap in saejimas sister
End of Day/Dead Souls is underrated
>them bosses
youtube.com
Haruka was 12 in y3, that’s a child user
>Kiryu also just fucking stands there in Y5 redshirt HQ while Aoyama frames him for killing the patriarch
It's ironic that Kiryu has a way worse case of "Silent Protag conspicuously stands by doing nothing"-syndrome than Ichiban Dragon Quest Kasuga.
It’s weird because there are so many other times he charges in fists first
>Kazama dies when Kiryu leaves Shimano alone in Y1
He knows how ruthless and stubborn Shimano is. At least knock him out.
ahhh Shinada is so shit to play as! Why couldn't he be first so you don't downgrade from Akiyama?
pretty kino ngl
I’m just glad they gave you an unbreakable pipe, his normal moveset feels really weak
>special move is a takedown
>never works
O
MY
RUBBER
EVERYTHING
I want to fuck these 2 cuties.
Shinada is the most endearing loser in Yakuza (well, until Ichiban), and it sucks that his gameplay is so shit.
>Ryo Aoki
>dead
He's at the homeless camp, you can't convince me otherwise
Yakuza 3 was so fucking terrible, I almost gave up on the franchise. It's still C-Movie quality writing with fun B-Movie characters but Yakuza 4 is lightyears more enjoyable so far.
>Majima never impregnated Yuki
what the fuck was his problem?
So what the fuck was up with rubber bullets? Replaying 4 now and while I could see the vest underneath the suit when Saejima shot the lord of rubber who killed everyone after, when Saejima shot mooks you could see buckets of blood flying out of some of them.
Writers only introduced cuties like makoto and yuki after the majority of the series came out so they couldn’t write them into a happy ending for majima, instead he cucks himself and married a huge cunt
Didn't the protagonist of the psp game come back from the american realm?
Watch it again, the only time you actually see splashes are when one of their ramen bowls gets knocked over.
Is Majima a sadist or masochist?
Yes
Majima is an M, that’s why he constantly tries to get kiryu to beat the shit out of him
>He gets forgiven for all the shit he did in Y7
His father rots in jail for life for listening to his orders
Yuki wasn't interested in him like that, the only one at that hostess bar who wasn't I guess
I love how none of you faggots mention the blind guy that can literally see the future, or how the final bosses in both samurai games come out of nowhere
If majima had remembered the vinegar she’d have been all over his dick
Maybe Kume gets sent to the same prison and Sawashiro kills him with some toilet paper-based obscure martial art or something
