I wish they made grimstone to be much harder to mine basically forcing you to acquire netherite before mining below 0

Copper is useless garbage.

why did they raise the up and down limit?

what the fuck is grimstone?

The fact alone that it will unify all of the mods adding copper is worth it
Higher mountains and deeper caves, with room to build still

because the game was literally way too shallow

>there are people celebrating making mining more tedious by putting ores on different levels
This update fucking sucks. A year after release people will still be complaining about the underground being a content void you only deal with as an unenjoyable grind.

Attached: 1612587899556.jpg (890x852, 117.58K)

can i have the pipes in your home pls

You almost only find diamonds in grimstone areas so your idea would be really annoying

1.7.3 was the best

Attached: 1e.jpg (225x225, 14.95K)

Wrong, now you can actually drop below 0 and explore instead of strip mining for hours

well it wouldn't be if they increased it slightly

you can still find diamonds at y level 16 - 0
but in 0 to -64 diamonds are more common

just what i wanted to do, choose to strip mine 9 different levels instead of 1

>those new ores
I'm going to vomit.

The caves are so huge that you probably wont even need to strip mine for ores since there is so much exposed ore already

Ore layers should follow topography so you can mine for more than just coal inside mountains

GARGAMEL and 404
WHO WILL REMEMBER US

>coal doesn't generate at the default mining level anymore
>you actually need a charcoal farm now

Attached: 15597896525333.jpg (531x531, 119.73K)

>mods
I don't give a shit about mods. Adding more bloat to the game is a really stupid idea but they LOVE doing it.

Explore what? The giant caverns Mojang has said are going to be fucking rare? Boy, I sure cannot WAIT to spend hours in tiny dead end caves and mine shafts, just to find giant caves with no rewards that spawn millions of mobs on my ass with nothing good to be gained.

I'd like Grimstone if it looked more natural.
Having it darker is fine as it helps the atmosphere.

What kind of rewards would you like? A chest full of bread and a single iron horse armor? This isn't Terraria user.

Maybe Mojang should stop adding polar bears and other useless shit and take some ideas from terraria and actually have some incentives for exploring the lifeless world they've spent 10 years doing a single thing a year with.

hey don't forget about the new mob that can two shot you in full diamond :)

It's the opposite of tedious. Instead of digging down to y=11, mining straight forever, and acquiring stacks of iron without a single diamond, you get rewarded with what you actually want based on mining height. Diamonds have what looks like a triple or quadruple spawn rate at certain levels compared to before. You can actually go diamond mining or gold mining.

Attached: 1589375286529.png (3828x4096, 3.81M)

this, it looks like bricks

>coal doesn't generate at the default mining level anymore
no?

Imagine being this much of a brainlet and wanting to strip mine for hours on end

Check the OP image, coal doesn't generate at diamond mining height

user you realize they made tons of custom pathing code for the polar bears, bees and pandas that allowed for better modding in the form of custom scripts, enemies, vehicles and furniture right? You realize they added a lot more to the game with those updates don’t you?

but it does?

It used to. Not anymore.

Don't remind me
>uh we don't actually have any rewards planned for killing it, its supposed to be a pain in the ass that the player deals with like a natural disaster
>yeh we think its a good idea, why wouldn't it? Players love annoying obstacles that do nothing but bug them. They loved the phantom didn't they?
I never had problems getting what I needed before
>imagine thinking you won't be stripmining by release
Actual content please.

but it literally does though?

Attached: 2021-02-19_14-15-27.png (580x91, 62.34K)

they should change the grimstone in the deep caves with the clean grimstone, less noisy.

>coal as rare as diamonds
Why would you mine at this height? If you're looking for diamonds you should go deeper and coal doesn't generate there.

Whoa this is amazing.
I almost want them to back off after this update, just leave the game how it is.

When does this actually release?

Modders stopped updating in 1.12

Best post

The new world height and ore spawns gives me hope of beta world gen returning. I stopped playing the game because they removed it. Everything how is boring and "realistic"

Attached: unnamed (2).jpg (512x288, 53.79K)

The deep caves would look way better if they would use the polish grimstone block and not the block that looks like the normal stone block after it was mined.

Attached: e357347.jpg (600x300, 30.9K)

This.

Maybe now the world geb will be interesting enough that I'll want to play something other than a skyblock.

People like you will never be happy with anything. Can you just go fuck yourself and play the older versions if that’s what you want so bad? People point out the things they actually added to the game and you bitch. I point out about strip mining not being necessary anymore and you bitch. Just fuck off

it's a bitchbot [BB]

I dig the idea but for a different reason since it'd force you to actually explore the caves and face the new mob instead of strip mining

I fucking hate listening to british people talk

which one of you fucks is either a mojang employee or feeding them ideas because one of you described in detail, basically all the little details of caves and cliffs more than a year ago and now it has been copied and pasted into the game

the feeling is mutual, burger-chan

I HATE THE NEW TEXTURE

I HATE DIGGING SO DEEP

I HATE THAT YOU HAVE TO MINE MORE

I HATE BRITISH PEOPLE

I HATE THE NEW VERSION

I HATE ADDED THING XYZ

I HATE THAT THEY DIDNT TAKE THE POLISHED GRIMSTONE

I HATE NEW IDEAS

I HATE OLD IDEAS

I HATE NEW GAMES

I HATE OLD GAMES

How does that work with worlds that currently exist, what happens to bedrock?

DAMN THESE BLOCKS LOOK GOOD FOR BUILDING

Can't wait for the new main menu messages telling me to stay home and donate to BLM.

The grimstone texture is not final, neither is the occurrence of the new ore heights, also, they're tweaking the new caves still, we're at least 3 months away from the release yet

FUCK BIDEN
FUCK BIDEN
FUCK BIDEN

Pink dildos

ewwwww

you have to be underage to fuck biden

This would make players go back and foward from the nether to the overwatch to be able to progress
That would make it like a metroidvania or whatever buzzword you like to compare it to

no, they didn't. 1.16 is the new scene now.

who knows what else is coming, this snapshot only got somewhat 40%?? of the new shit.

No, after the underground, they need to update the OVERWORLD. Add depth to it instead of the same biomes with different kinds of wood.

Them they can kick the bucket and release minecraft 2.

*overworld

Well considering this is the caves AND cliffs update, this is just the world gen from surface level to -64, the other part of the update will be from surface to the sky
Also we are still missing underground biomes iirc they dont generate yet and we only have the lush biome

>lapis
>emerald
>copper
????????

the lush biome is the one that doesn't generate, the stalagmites one is already in the game. They still need to add the deep dark and I guess they will also add other unannounced biomes as they did with the nether update.

Hey at least now having multiple mods on means you won't have to deal with like 7 different types of copper ore.

Not true anymore, it took awhile but people are starting to rapidly make the switch to fabric.
Forge jews trying to keep mods on 1.12 will not win in the end.

insider here

coming biome's
>lush biome
>laver veins biome
>dark bottom biome (new enemy type)

You already can't insta-mine it, what more do you need? Since you will also need different mines for different materials, I see no reason for them to slow down mining any more than that. As long as it's now easier to get the resources you want (as long as you mine at the optimal layer), I think this is a great change. And it's not like diamonds are useful. You can trade for armor and tools, so it's mostly used as currency in multiplayer and for decoration

You're meant to go exploring on the surface before you mine down, which you'll probably do anyway while looking for a spot to set up your starter base

Aside from "laver veins", everything you mentioned was already announced.

I call bullshit even though a hot lava biome like those basalt deltas from nether is very much possible.

Attached: at8f4trxulr41.png (1920x1001, 2.64M)

Not him but maybe it being unbreakable unless you have diamond or better would be good. But also it being able to be instamined with netherite plus the enchantments so it's not a slog to remove. I'd prefer this over what we have on the current snapshot.

I hope you're right, user. Fabric is so much better in every way

don't ever go into game design

I could see that, like how certain ores require certain tools to be gathered. You add a massive penalty to anything below iron, making it take as long as obsidian, but allow netherrite to insta-mine. At the same time, do you really need to dig that low normally? Having it be different from stone means you either have to use a different strategy (moss conversion or TNT, for instance) or you really have to put in the work. I honestly kind of like that, since it makes it actually feel different instead of just a texture swap

The only thing chaining me down to Forge is Create and few biome mods (BoP is just too good compared to fabric's own biome mods) and quark
Hopefully theres that one tool that automatically converts forge mods into fabric and that way fabric will be able to dunk on forgetrannies

-Change how enemies spawns at low levels
-Add lava caves and lava biomes
-Make an easier/faster way to light up larger areas besides lol potions
-Make VOLCANO BIOMES already

someone made a resource pack that you could shoot torch arrows on walls

Doubtful, since they use very different pipelines as far as I've understood it. Fabric actually rewrites a lot of code for Minecraft, which is why it isn't completely consistent with vanilla when it comes to some behaviors or bugs. Fabric is just a layer on top of vanilla, meaning it's less dependent on game version and easier to update. I think the difference is too much for a simple port, but I'm sure more mods will move over or be created going forward. You might not get the exact same experience, but it'll be as good or better

Am I genuinely autistic if I find the idea of geology more appealing because of Minecraft updates?

Attached: PLW.png (645x773, 11.04K)

don't ever reproduce, thanks

They said on Twitter that there won't be any additional biomes beyond what they've shown

?

I still want a light gem of some kind, that will show nearby blocks that are below light level 8 and on which mobs can spawn. Mob proofing can be a lot of fun when you tackle the broad aspect of it (what blocks to build with) but is an absolute chore when it comes to the details (making sure you get every single block). Torching caves would also be way easier if some sort of light gem existed. Amethyst would be a perfect material for it, too

No, you're just human. Why would you ever have thought about geology before something you enjoyed, like a game or movie, pointed it out to you?

But they are essentially revamping hills and mountains (hence the name cliffs and caves update), so it will feel like we've gotten even more. If you can't tell from this image mountains are going to be a LOT bigger to the point that they dwarf the current built limit.

Yeah sure but I'm just saying, don't expect any new cave biomes, it's been deconfirmed

>Will have to make 3 different strip mines to get the most optimal ressources
Prepare the chests, they will be filled wih nothing but cobblestone, andesite, granite, diorite and grimstone

Attached: n5c4z4e5t7641(1).jpg (902x961, 104.8K)

Are mob repellent would be to good for mojang. Although if geodes are supposed to be rare as dungeons, they could act as an anti-dungeon. Craft a beacon-like thing that would keep mobs from spawn in that area even if was dark.

I hate the need to torch the shit out of my huge buildings because of mobs.

1.12.2

What do people even do in this game after beating the ender dragon? Just sit in your base alone and keep improving it for no reason?

kys

You do know that the End continues after the Dragon, right?

Should I buy Minecraft for the Switch? I have never played it, but I just kinda want something where I can build shit.

They weren't tho

I never ever bothered to get ender pearls, find the stronghold and defeat the ender dragon and I only fought him on servers with a bunch of people.

Minecraft is about making your own fun.

Change enemies and mobs for the new biomes? Hehe, no. Let's add glow squids and axolotls instead :)

I usually try to use stairs, slabs and carpet in "clever" ways to avoid having to light everything up. Sometimes that's not an option, though, and big rooms are especially vulnerable to either becoming mob farms or requiring lights fucking everywhere. I'm really glad they added the moss carpet, since it'll make lighting up carpets a lot easier. No more leaf blocks over torches. Some sort of mob repellent would be a really good addition, especially since it would mean you could build with intentional darkness

Grab a few elytras, a few stacks of shulker boxes, and then never visit the end again. I spend the vast majority of my time with the game building farms or redstone contraptions, and buildings to house them in. It's fun to build entire cities worth of stuff where every building has a purpose

And the End is still one of the most pointless and boring areas in the whole game. There's virtually no reason or appeal to visit besides the loot, and then after that you'll leave as quickly as possible.

Beating the ender dragon IS the true start of the game
That's the point where you can upgrade everything just to build anything
Also now that i think about it, no one's talking about the archeology thing they'll implement in the game, will they improve it? Add new pottery? Create your own shape? Put flowers/saplings in it?

patchworkmc.net/

Why didn't they update the Nether Fortresses in the Nether Update? They look so old and shitty now.

Finally a good fucking update that makes sense.

Color me impressed

The end is supposed to be the end, you get your reward and get the fuck out. It was never meant to be anything more than a boss battle and they won't flesh it out anymore after the combat update.

Seeing how the stronghold, the fortress, and dungeons are all dated, we're probably getting a dungeon update at some point

Mojang has a serious issue when it comes to structures. The woodland mansion they added in 1.14 is shit. Jungle temples have been obsolete forever. Strongholds are dull. Nether fortresses are tedious. Etc., etc. At least bastions are worth exploring. My point is, I think they left it because they don't know what the fuck they're doing with structures

>New update
>Game made worse
Thanks, next created will be a reverse wraith which annoys you if you did sleep in the last three days.

I rather wait to see the archeology snapshot than speculate about it.

Said that I would like to find actual artifacts like treasure decorations, fossils, and maybe even rare items like ancient tech or unique weapons/tools like the trident.

Also, there won't be excavation sites like they shown on minecom, it will generate underground and is up to you to make the excavation site yourself.

youre a bitch for whining abt the baller ass underground changes sinces theyre the coolest shit theyve added in ages. but i agree that the mob is a let down, gameplay wise its awesome. i love the idea of a hyper mob being deep underground thatll be an actual hard ass challenge even for a fully geared up player, ive always wanted harder content in the game, but the fact that they have litte purpose aside from being strong is so upsetting. i wish there was a good proper reason to fight them, like if they could drop some cool unique gear, even some stupid shit to make fighting them in the future eaiser like boots that silence your foot steps. but nope, its just a bloat mob. granted, its not nearly as bad as the shitty glowsquid, but it still sucks that the game as of recent has finally started adding mobs and most of them add little to nothing to the game

>dungeons
Ah, the old days when a tiny square room with a mob spawner and cookies was considered the rarest and most cool random structure ever.

I completely forgot about archeology, and was really looking forward to the update regardless. Hopefully they add the vase "painting" to regular clay/terracotta blocks as well, so you can make custom borders for your interiors

God I fucking hope they do that. The old world gen was so much better.

Amplified is pretty fun

>Horse armor and saddles aren't craftable because... Because they just aren't

They stopped at 1.7.10, then after some time they accepted 1.12.2 as a good modding version. During early 2020 there was a divide because some modders were going for the fabric api which was not compatible with forge. But, then on late 2020 there have been some decent 1.16 modpacks, with 1.12.2 mods being ported.

With datapacks you can specify your own world gen, down to what blocks should be used where. If you want beta worldgen, there are solutions available

As dumb as that is, at least it means there's something worthwhile to find in random chests. They're optional items that don't hinder progression, so they're the perfect fit

Saddles can be fished
Most everything up to diamond can be traded for.

You will never be as good as Biomes'o'plenty.

Attached: Screenshot_20210219_172311_org.mozilla.firefox~2.jpg (1080x836, 117.9K)

biome'o'plenty is a shitty mod that clutter minecraft with too much shit.

People do MODS. You have plenty of modes that introduce other worlds, enemies and bosses. Twilight Forest for example.

at the very least the framework will be there and modders will have an easier time implementing them
not him but it's better than other biome mods

>complaining about too much stuff
Cringe AND yikes, my pal.

does optifine work with fabric?

that sounds good

retard

I get the confusion at copper, but christ dude, how long ago did you last play the game? Indev?

Does but you'll have to install optifabric as well iirc

>filtered by a kids game
le fucking mao

why is modding in minecraft so complicated?

quality > quantity

>could just list all the changes
>could post some kind of official mojang statement
>instead posts some faggot youtuber
>faggot youtuber talks about his audio and his personal life
>''hurr I am setting up a new studio if you were wondering''
Shut the fuck up

>different depths actually matter now
>can zero in on the ore you're looking for
>worse

If you can't find a point in building structures for fun, why would you even be playing minecraft? Adding an "ending" at all was stupid.

What's the point of having big mountain if the way the game rendering works doesn't evolve?
>this mountain is huge, trust me, behind its sudden disappearance there is tons of it!

The Youtuber is OP.

The only guy that do snapshot reviews worth watching is slicedlime, he actually is a mojang employee and has inside knowledge about everything that is added in each snapshot, he even covers all technical stuff like bugs and code changes.

youtube.com/c/slicedlime/videos

>slicedlime
is filterd when searching 'minecraft snapshot', you actual have to search his name to find him.
youtube.com/watch?v=9AiudiWFG8g

This is much better. Straight to the point, from the actual developer, no personal life shit, no begging for subs, no dumb speculation, no weird RP shit like doing the thing where you go third person and hit the air.
Self-shilling fags like OP should get rangebanned. You should get an automated ban if you post videos from their channels.

No idea, everytime there is a new snapshot I just copypaste the number and search on youtube until i find his channel.

is this a basalt delta in an amplified world or what?

are those to scale? will diamonds be even more common than iron currently is as long as you go down to y-64?

youtube algor. is build in a way that it supports clickbait, slicedlime doesn't have any (((like supscripe and hit the bell - red arrow - cyrcle of HOLY SHIT buy my merch))) shit.

just bookmark him, no need for any sub or shit, bookmark the video page and done.

No, this is just retards who are disinformed since chart has no autism.

The amount of dias you get now is the peak, you have to go deeper in 1.17 to get the amount of dias you get now.

diorite and these other kind of stones already looked bad in old caves, now that they're encrusted into blackstone too they look even worse

So can they patch old worlds to include the new generation? They are gonna have to add caves beneath all existing worlds, otherwise if you get to a newly generated chunk it will border the void and make no sense. Even if its all just solid grimestone they have to have something there

Only andesite (the grey one) spawns in grimstone caves.

>They are gonna have to add caves beneath all existing worlds, otherwise if you get to a newly generated chunk it will border the void and make no sense.
as of now, it is not possible
you might have to start over.

I usually just like to build a huge house and fill it with cool (needlessly) rare items like chain armor sets, music discs, and mob heads.

ERP

oh alright that makes it a little better I guess

Someone post the hytale comparison
Holy shit the balls on mojang they slowly over the course of ten years introduce animals from a giant animal mod and the game never goes on sale

They probably are going to make much higher mountains at least since ores can now generate as high as y=256

They need to make spawners and command blocks legitimate in survival.

Should come out at the same day as PC, Java and Bedrock always release major updates at the same time now

I saw some pics if the new brown block where stalagmites grow from and it looked so out of place in that cave. Feels like they either have to make that caves have a layer of that rock or some middle step between stone and that brown stone.

>I HATE BRITISH PEOPLE
Based!

Why would emeralds be up at the peaks of mountains? That makes no sense geologically.

>That makes no sense geologically.
Nothing in minecraft makes sense geologically
