Enjoy user, I'm working through iceborne myself as a newcomer as well. The monsters are a lot more aggresive and mobile and also have quite a bit more health. Make sure you get accustomed to the new mechanics IB adds as they add a lot of DPS.
I actually quite liked val hazaak but I used the nergigante long sword which switches off his miasma at times. Val hazaak is also very easy to chain spirit helmbreakers on. Fuck kushala daora though.
I really enjoyed fighting teostra and I've enjoyed all the monsters in IB immensely.

just make like MR great jagras armor or something. its easy and yes even something as 'bad' as great jagras is better than any HR armor.

It's a fantasy monster design,maybe when they were making the skeleton they decided to do that because a fishlike feature would work with mizu,and its not impossible to be one of those vestigial type of bones like coccyx that are there because ancient mizu used it but not anymore

You can literally play through the entire game without even acknowledging them.

Most of them are just like weapon moves that are not linked to a combo of the weapon. Style are a bit more of an hit or miss but even the most gimmick one like aerial can give you some funny fights to break from normal combat

i like fighting them, they are predictable and easily exploitable and rathalos armor is always pretty nice to get early in games

The skull look nothing like Vaal and the neck is too short, get your eyes checked.

Arts are fine as a concept.

Styles are dogshit in their implementation. Basically styles are why the combat flow in GU is worse than 4U, since styles take away/add from each-other, resulting in a stiff but potentially variable moveset. Adept LS is basically the same as Guild, but doesn't let you fade slash backwards, and removes the spirit combo finisher and replaces it with the adept dodge and full counter.

Since moves have to swapped out or added depending on style it just results in the fluidity of the combat fucking dying compared to 4U and especially World.

The real problem is that from one side you have adept,that basically remove some move but add things for dodge,but you also have valor,that make the weapon straight up better in valor mode
But on the other you also have aerial,where you basically just jump and do the same attack over and over

and I won't lie,a couple of run with aerial DB with the right monsters can be quite fun,but get boring super fast

That too, but my main problem with GU's combat is that it just doesn't flow as well as 4U.

It's likely because to get styles (to swap moves in and out) to work, the animations had to be 'separated' or somehow have their transitions/flow cut or modified.

Styles have major balance problems no doubt, but also even with the best styles, the game just doesn't feel as nice as 4U did and especially compared to World.

Nakarkos is the biggest case of "cool design bad fight", second is either Naja or Ceadeus

Rage slash is a major skill, if we referring to another example of major skill like new HH (performance mode) that offer completely different playstyle from old HH, then I doubt Rage slash would ended as replacing TCS only.
