Who else fucking does this?

>deliberately don't add features from previous games so you can sell them as DLCs in sequels
>steal what`s popular on Steam workshop and add them as DLCs
>said DLCs are broken anyway

It's a shame what happened with Imperator

Yeah, I'm 100% sure average neet from Dab Forums would run a company which specializes in super-niche genre games much better.

this but unironically

>>steal what`s popular on Steam workshop and add them as DLCs
>>said DLCs are broken anyway
Rimworld

why do you defend Paradox for free?

your reading comprehension is /out/ the fucking window user

I'm frustrated with paradox but at the same time, what else am I going to play? Distant Worlds doesn't come out for awhile and I think Falling Frontier got delayed again. Those assholes have cornered the market. Absolutely not cool.

had i half the knowledge and qualiifcations of the developers of paradox? yes, abso-fucking-lutely

What game would you lads make if you had a grand black budget?

Get in those dev threads user.

Paradox always released broken/incomplete games, check the Victoria II economy for example, back in the day this used to be ok since they were small and niche, but after they decided to make the push for mainstream games with EU4 this became an unsustainable business model.
Imperator failed because that period relied on the charisma of people, it wasn't about Rome being a state but about people like Pompey, Caesar, Sulla, Scipio, when they finally started fixing this they gave up entirely.

>who else fucking does this?
Literally every company which has limited but dedicated audience with above average purchasing power does that. Model train makers, Creative Assembly, LEGO, etc. Paradox problem is not them splitting their games into dozens of DLCs, it's them not having adequate coders.

4x template system for use across a multitude of themes within the same game. Player created content.

This is why grand strategy tards need to be lynched, they actually buy shit like this. No other video game genre has as shitty practices, excluding mmos and mobile games which I don't count

A MOBA game which encourages EXTREME levels of toxicity and is so pay to win it would make EA uncomfortable. My theory is, since MOBAs are successful but every attempt to make them more friendly completely flopped, you need to go in opposite direction.

That's what they tried though no? The whole loyalty and character systems seemed like an attempt at that

is it really true paradox gave up on Imperator?

vicky 3

How do we design the economy THIS time bros

>No other video game genre has as shitty practices
FPS shooters, every single online only game, battle royale games, 3rd person shooters...
At least with paradox they release content instead of muh cosmetics and muh in game special currency that you have to buy if you want super ultra rare skin 162

Modern Monetary Theory. Purchase limited time DLC and get unlimited money.

Bethesda is well known for stealing player made mods for content and are well beloved for releasing broken jank shit.

Too little too late, by the time they realized what need to be done to save the game the fanbase was already dead.
Unfortunately. It was one of my favorites.
It's probably going to suck if they decide to market it for a broader audience, but let's wait until the 21st to see what's coming out I guess

i just want a super open ended sandbox colonial fantasy world styled game, kind of in the vein of starsector. build and grow an island chain with good resources and build up armies to engage in battles with personal input like that one 100 years war game that was on the ps3/360 i think. or just be an asshole privateer or some cunt who rapes and pillages the uncivilized savages?

i just want some salty ship-based adventurin and combat

model Keynesian economics

>muh cosmetics
Paradox literally does that too

A city building 4x game.
Less about directing individual units, more about developing a civ so it has the capabilities by judicious zoning and economic sliders.

Even call of duty doesn't have 300 dollars of dlc

Still hilarious cities skylines didn't have monorails in vanilla

firaxis with civ, you dont get the update if you dont by dlc, but with paradox each dlc pairs with a free update for vanilla.

but paradox is super shit currently, at least civ isnt unplayable at launch. its obvious paradox doesnt even play the games they sell. ai debt spirals have existed for over a year and it hasnt been fixed. leviathan looked like the worst update for any game ever, glad i didnt buy it and uninstalled the game.

i honest to god forgot i played cities skylines because i got it for free, and then pirated the full version later and was blown away by how much of a game it was by comparison

thanks for making me remember another sliver of my repressed anger, user

Why did leviathan become so hated? Haven't played EU in a while

All they had to do to make Cities eternal was to make a "Seasons" and proper Weather system yet they waste their time on dumb bullshit filler mechanics that everyone just disables anyway.

broke populations

kenshi without jank

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines remake, but the scope and scale of the game is multiplied by 1000x. Bring back all original voice actors, writers, and sound designers, but modernize the gameplay and make it a real vampire game, like having to stalk prey is actually hard to do. Then dump the rest of the money into funding more WoD games/TV shows/tabletop

why isnt anyone else making these type of games? i mean crusader kings sold millions.

Respectfully disagree

Why can't swedecucks make good games? Paradox trash, Wolfenstein and more. All shit.
