What fears do you have about sharing your DNA with a company?

there has to be a way to do it anonymously, no?

Because you spend so little time on there that no one could possibly have figured out and cataloged every other detail about you, right?

If you want to hide a crowd is a pretty good place.

Because you spend so little time on the internet*

it's quite honestly a kike data mining scam. Ask on Dab Forums which of these DNA tests are actually worth taking if you really want to know.

Not OP, what kind of idiocrat consoomer whore question is that even?

Use nebula genomics, they test more of your genome and don't intentionally fuck with your results

I've used both companies and the ancestry results are pretty much the same

>Not OP, what kind of idiocrat consoomer whore question is that even?
Asking what his concerns are is not tantamount to being a consoomer whore, user.

feels like uploading my fingerprints but more extreme

probably but when you're literally submitting your dna that kind of defeats the purpose?

>don't intentionally fuck with your results
do they really?

>feels like uploading my fingerprints but more extreme
It basically is uploading your ID, but there's a bit more to it. Law enforcement can and will use what data is made available to them from DNA websites(like GEDmatch iirc was used to solve a cold case) to find relatives of unknown DNA samples from crime scenes. Further a site like 23&me surveys you to try and figure out more about what you are and I assume to strengthen their predictive validity for the traits they're measuring from your relatedness to other users of the site. I forget if 23&me has an opt-out clause or not but if you're really concerned then you can look into that. Also you won't be listed for their relatives stuff if you don't agree to it as far as I'm aware.

yeah my concerns are like what if the system fucks up and my dna ends up in a crime that i literally had no involvement with or what if insurance premiums get fucked because of my dna

For white people at least, yes. BUt even IF they don't I would still use nebula because they give a lot more facts about your health and other biological traits. 23andme hardly gives any of that.

If you wanna connect with distant relatives I would suggest ancestry. 23andme is basically dog shit.

But you leave fingerprints everywhere you go.
Like I get being paranoid, it's healthy with infosec, but there's not a lot people can or will do with your DNA.
If it makes you feel better, at my job people regularly try to use their SSN as if it was their first name.

If any relative has done it they can already track you down anyway, that's how they caught the golden state killer.

>yeah my concerns are like what if the system fucks up and my dna ends up in a crime that i literally had no involvement with or what if insurance premiums get fucked because of my dna
I'm pretty sure they do not share your DNA publicly and I think the only sharing they'll do of your DNA is pseudonymous(as in not tied to your name or person). I'd just look through their ToS though and see if that's a thing. GEDmatch by the way allowed for you to upload your own DNA and find other people who were related to you who did the same and that's how they used it to solve a cold case. Your insurance stuff should be fine for the far foreseeable future.

>I'm pretty sure they do not share your DNA publicly and I think the only sharing they'll do of your DNA is pseudonymous(as in not tied to your name or person).
every company will let the FBI in if they're asked. "privacy guarantees" are all fake. getting falsely accused of a crime due to biometric data is a serious irrational fear of mine

will these places tell you if you have fucked up chromosomes like an extra or duplicate? or will they just tell you that you're 1/125 black?

what do you gain

who fucking cares

why do you think they want your money and dna

do you trust a bunch of jews with your genetic code

do you not have something else to spend money on

do you not see the news about these companies

one last one

how fucking stupid are you

take
your
meds,

schizo.

Yeah, the fed and the court will always have that power over anything. If they suspected you of being at the crime then they'd get a warrant for your DNA too instead of just going to the company. How often do you even go out to warrant fear of your DNA being linked to a crime? If you're around other people then you'll have alibis at the least.
Don't think they'll tell you about fucked up chromosomes but they do have health stuff on 23&me. Stuff like if you're at an increased risk of developing diabetes, blood clots, etc.

quit them months ago

now i smoke weed constantly

haha i feel fine

i feel fine

i feel fine

i feel fine

It's been proven they share their records with law enforcement
