i dont have a fav season, s1-s5 is peak x files, after that it gets more and more ehh every season. i watched the whole thing again a few months ago and i didn't even bother watching it after mulder gets abducted
i think my fav episode is grotesque, it has this very dreamy eerie atmosphere that sticks with you. x cops is probably #2

No argument there. Grotesque was definitely cool, always gave me some Vampire Bloodlines: the Masquerade vibes. In terms of mythos I probably have to go with Musings, creepiness either the Tooms episodes (I watched those as a kid and they just stuck with me, those goddamn eyes) or Field Trip, I know it's season 6 but it's pretty exceptional to me. Die Hand Die Verletzt is also great.
