>The decision to a hold a stand-down was made by Lloyd Austin, who made history by becoming the military’s first Black defense secretary after a long career rising in the ranks of the Army. In his confirmation hearing, Austin underscored the need to rid the military of “racists and extremists”.
>Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Austin ordered the stand-down after a meeting with the U.S. military branch leaders, who are under pressure to show progress in combating extremism after current and former military servicemembers were found to have participated in the siege of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
>The Pentagon has yet to define how it will deal with extremism or offer data estimating how many service members hold white nationalist ideology. It has also not disclosed how many troops have been disciplined for extremism.
I may be poor, not get unemployment, and won't get the money I was promised for voting for Biden. But at least he'll purge the military of poorly-defined, possibly misguided wrongthought using undisclosed purity tests just like that jolly fellow Stalin did. I LOVE BIDEN.
>purge If by purge you mean everyone sitting through some power point classes - then sure.
Joseph Ramirez
>Leader literally stating he's going to root out wrongthought >It's fine, it's probably not going to be serious Literally the first president in history that has done this, it's already serious.
I mean the wrongthought has proven to be an actual national security threat, and it is the military's objective is to defend national security yes?
Jacob Davis
The US Military takes racial conflict extremely seriously, has done so since integration in 1948 because it severely negatively impacts accomplishing the assigned mission from platoon level on up. If soldiers lack cohesion as a unit for any reason including due to racial conflict, the likelihood of failure increases dramatically. Commanders immediately lose their command if they don't shut it down immediately.
Given the cancerous growth of white nationalism/supremacy among the general population with concomitant violence and terrorism, it's only a prudent and necessary step to ensure Military effectiveness.
One can successfully extrapolate the Military's position to the Nation as a whole. If the cancer of white supremacy is not immediately excised, the Nation as a whole cannot be successful and will ultimately fail.
Gavin Thomas
>>Leader literally stating he's going to root out wrongthought >>It's fine, it's probably not going to be serious >Literally the first president in history that has done this, it's already serious. Does Biden's behavior surprise anyone? He's lifting this right out of Killary Clinton's playbook.
Charles Flores
Insurectionist cope. Maybe don't be criminals
Josiah Brooks
No. I got out over 20 years ago and I had to sit through racism lectures and barracks sweeps because some yahoos from the 82nd murdered some black civilians off post. My old man was a 20 year career soldier who fought in Vietnam and he had to sit through racism lectures. The military having a kneejerk reaction to a political event is standard behavior. Some people are going on a list to be watched and their lives will suck for a whike, and some guys who everybody knew were racist but everyone just put up with it will probably be denied reenlistment, and a small number of idiots with paraphenalia in their barracks or blatant facebook posts or something will be chaptered out, but nothing much will change.
Robert Adams
Leaders have been monitoring trooper’s social media for years. I had this one yeehoo pilot who posted a bunch of dumb ass motorcycle stunts on his book o faces. I sent them to our safety warrant who used them as a don’t do dumb stuff poster campaign in the pisser. Never saw any hate or white nationalist speak but I would have recommended a chapter if I had.
Ryan Edwards
What are you imagining Hillary did this time?
Hunter Thomas
(You) >Literally the first president in history > "Literally" > "first president" > "history" (You) don't have the slightest concept of what any of these words mean, do (You)?

Chase Allen
Oh great. Another three hour death by powerpoint on how not to be racist. Step one: don't be a white male.
It's times like these I wish I tried out for force recon. They don't have to put up with this bullshit.
Matthew Green
Hillary purged the military? Holy fuck. I had no idea.
Gonna require some *citations to go with that, user. Take your time and post the most credible ones.

Nice concern trolling, faggot Everyone who actually voted for Biden is glad he's going to do this
Jose Campbell
Shut the fuck up you never served faggot. You aren't even worth the fucking response.
To everyone else, you handle shit at the lowest level. Only faggots see someone doing something and go "I'ma tell the commander what an awful person you are so I look good because I only care about myself, fuck the team."
Jaxson Watson
>literally bragging about being a rat This is the kind of person who voted for Biden.
Zachary Gutierrez
Grow up, fag. The real rat is the shitbird who causes innocent Joes to suffer through "Health & Welfare" raids and "random" piss tests because he literally cannot stop splattering his own unit with his sit behavior. This is basic training level knowledge: do not be the guy who fucks it up for everyone else. Hardcases deserve everything they get. Fuck you.
Charles Nelson
Aren't there already restrictions in places to remove extremists from the military? I remember MEPS checking tattoos and doing background check to ensure no neo-nazi/hate symbols or hate crimes are present. Service members already in with extremists beliefs tend to hide it their entire careers. This seems more like posturing to appease left-wingers that had no interest in joining the military.
Parker Nguyen
>never served faggot Oh, (You).
Oliver Davis
This is so fucked up. Ironic how many of the accusations they levelled at Trump are just as applicable to Biden
Blake Thompson
>just as applicable to Biden *citations required
Ayden Murphy
>*citations required >Ruling by executive order fiat >Highly dictatorial moves - purging the military And its only been about 12 days
Elijah Martin
>you handle shit at the lowest level Basic petty shit, yes.
Violation of security and safety protocols, no. That's way above a grunt's paygrade and needs to be addressed by adults. The cancer needs to be treated. Or cut out. An entire unit that's gone cancer is worse than useless and is no longer a "unit." It's a liability to everyone and everything around it. It has become the exact opposite of what a military is, and is a massive failure of basic training.
Interesting that (You) have no idea what the difference is.
Thomas King
>Ruling by executive order fiat Interesting perspective. Tell us more. Use examples.
HOW in the motherfucking hell is some guy posting motorcycle picks on fagbook a liability to everyone on the team? What was he doing jumps over formations?

Jackson Brooks
>McCarthyism Don't hate on Joe for being right, user. Besides, he was uncovering actual communists, while Bidet's secdef will only be targeting ideological enemies, as opposed to going after real racists.

No hate him for supporting and defending the KKK .
Biden has a decades-long record of opposition to busing and desegregation. And in 1977, during a congressional hearing on anti-busing legislation, Biden, who joined with segregationists in this fight, said he wanted to “ensure we do have orderly integration of society,” and pointed out he was “not just talking about education but all of society
Nathan Rodriguez
If you attempt to overthrow the US government then you're absolutely a criminal
Blake Evans
Then he said, “Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle with tensions having built so high that it is going to explode at some point. We have got to make some move on this.”
What is it desperate and pathetic, the fact that he has a track record of supporting the KKK or the fact that you dont want to accept the reality of the fact
Joshua Ortiz
Good. We don't need them. I wish we could get an actual purge though and not just some powerpoint meeting.

Biden should fear the military. Like all despots, if you cannot appease or swindle, the next thing on the agenda is to oppress. The purge of the miltitary is absolutely necessary to preserve OUR Democracy...not YOUR Democracy. Watch Biden take away Your Democracy in realtime.
Jayden Cook
>dude why would want to get rid of people in your military that view other races as subhuman?
John Harris
The entire Military leadership supported Biden, not the incompetent wannabe tyrant, the Orange Fool, who incited and orchestrated a mob to attempt to overthrow Democracy and the US Constitution by violent insurrection. Read the letter the top brass published after Trumps meeting with Flynn, the Quaken wench, Ghouliani where they tried to convince Trump to order martial law, nullify the certified, legal election and declare himself Emperor for life.
Benjamin Williams
>we need to go on a witch hunt and get rid of people because they might, or might not, be nazis
And I thought all the cracking down on sexual harassment and ruining careers for minor misunderstandings was bad.
Liam Ortiz
Actually, McCarthy's entire witch hunt fell apart when he started accusing the US Military of harboring communists.
>Joseph Nye Welch (October 22, 1890 – October 6, 1960) was an American lawyer who served as the chief counsel for the United States Army while it was under investigation for Communist activities by Senator Joseph McCarthy's Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, an investigation known as the Army–McCarthy hearings. His confrontation with McCarthy during the hearings, in which he famously asked McCarthy "At long last, have you left no sense of decency?" is seen as a turning point in the history of McCarthyism.
>our woke administration views whites as pure evil >therefore all whites are racist and deemed to be white nationalist extremists >we must round up all white people and place them in internment camps until this witch hunt is over and the "enemy from within" can be safely eradicated from this planet
It's frightening to have racialized extremists on either side of the political spectrum. Just because democrats are emb(race)ing racism as a political, authoritarian strategy, doesn't make it right
Kayden Bell
I see you've improved your english, Ivan.
Adam Green
90% of them are just undoing the orders Trump pushed. I mean yes, technically he signed more executive orders, but it's hard to go 'Wow he's abusing his executive privilege just like TRUMP' when the majority of them are cancelling the ones Trump made.
Jaxon Adams
It's really just partisan bitching for both sides. Trump signed ~7% number of EO of what Roosevelt signed and I don't think any president since Eisenhower would even make the list of top 10
Jayden Barnes
ITT: yet another cycle of cope from armchair politicians.
Boo hoo, wannabe Hitler lost, guess it's time to call the president Hitler or Stalin or whatever makes the most cognitive dissonance with societal norms.
It's not over, since the 70 million results of nuclear accidents ain't kicking the bucket any time soon. Damage control on unfortunate assholes is de-rigeur for the military.
Lincoln James
Only a single one undoes Trump's EO's, 13992 The rest are new so your rationalization is demonstrably false That being said they aren't all bad. I don't like the one that calls out special treatment for literally every race or person of color and lists like six races except for white people The one about not renewing private contracts with prisons is pretty nice
Angel Scott
good. i don't want nazi faggots in the military. it's my tax dollars they're leeching off of.
Aaron Cook
Reagan does actually
Evan Perez
As of 1/21 it was a helluva lot more than just 1 that were reversals of the Orange Fool's foibles.
>Boo hoo, wannabe Hitler lost >guess it's time to call the president Hitler user... do you not see (lol) the irony here?
Julian Thomas
Welp, there goes all of our scout snipers in the Marines. They've apparently have always been working for Hitler all this time until they finally got caught with that SS flag about a decade ago. Remember how THAT was a big deal?
Angel Collins
No one should be excluded from military service because of beliefs per the First ammendment. Beliefs are not something you can choose, they are a natural reaction to your life experiences, and being made to vocally suppress them constitutes indoctrination. The government, at the most, should only be interested in safety and criminal acts - acts, not thoughts. A few bad apples in the past doesn't make beliefs inherently dangerous (right Islamists?)
Adrian Wilson
Nothing in the 1A says you have to admit wakados into the military. In fact the mentally addled are already excluded.
Tyler Kelly
>mentally addled >are already excluded. I mean...
Noah White
White supremacists are the number 1 terrorist threat to the US and have been since 9/11. We don't allow Islamic terrorists into the military and thankfully we're weeding out the white supremacists now. It's a very tiny step to go from supporting white supremacy as a belief to becoming fully radicalized and shooting up a mosque, black church, fellow soldiers, etc. But if you're so butthurt contact the ACLU and get laughed out of the room. They'll support your right to be an ooga-booga cave man as a civilian but not in the Military. Now go have a sauna with some of your white supremacist incel butt buddies, lol!
Angel Lee
Racism isn't some sort of all-encapsulating, definitive quality of someone. Plus military service is known for instilling discipline in youth, so taking that away would most likely radicalize perceived racists at a higher rate - being excluded in more places until they have nothing to lose. Then, the cycle inverts: the racists, associated with perpetrating marginalization, are now undeniably (albeit fittingly) the victims of it. Why give a justification for their isolationism?
Kayden Russell
A shame. If biden still supported such sensible policies he might've turned out to be a good president.
Carson Reyes
>White supremacists are the number 1 terrorist threat to the US Consider suicide nigger.

I agree. There are idiots on all sides. BLM and white supremacists, etc Best to sort them all out, yes?
Xavier Carter
I don't get it, communists are already blocked from military service, shouldn't the far right get the same in the US?
Julian Gray
By that logic the Soviet Union didn't make CHAZ.
Landon Martin
>tiny step to go from supporting white supremacy as a belief to becoming fully radicalized There is no "step" between these. White supremacists are fully radicalized. Full stop. Every one of them is a ticking time bomb looking for any figleaf opportunity. It's the self-pitying grievance culture of losers all the way down.
> t. J6 Isurrection > B-b-butt WE are t3h winning!! > It's OUR turn!

They aren't excluded for their beliefs. They are weeded out for their actions.
Glad I could torch that strawman into ash for (You). No charge.
Now what we move on to are the laws, rules & regs, and the court rulings (civilian and military) that all specifically state that conshitushional "rights" don't exist in the military. You wave those when you sign up. Same as when (You) attend a public school or work in a private corporation or use the services of a private corporation. repugnicons have spent decades building this fiction. If (You) don't like it, contact the ACLU and ask them to represent (You) in getting the laws changed and the rulings overturned.
Glad I could clear that up for (You). Also no charge.
Jose Hernandez

Landon Gray
No, it's acceptable to be a member of the Communist Party in the US Military. Which makes sense. There's nothing in the US Constitution that mandates the US have a Capitalist economic system just like there is nothing in it that mandates the US be a Christian country. That's why the US Military recognises the Church of Satan, Wiccan, Druidism, etc. as valid religious preferences for a soldier.
>a couple of guys >not the entire unit posing with an SS flag >implying CNN didn't make a huge deal of this edition.cnn.com/2012/02/10/us/marines-nazi-symbol/index.html Shit I think a couple of them are black. When did the Hitler Youth start letting them in?

Oh wow a whole 10 guys. We really have a white supremacist epidemic.
Evan Stewart
Well, the US Military already has the Fritz helmets, wonder how long it'll take before Biden issues jackboots?
Nicholas Williams
Get back with us when Biden tries to overthrow US Democracy and declare himself God Ordained Dictator For Life Dear Leader Drumpfus the First, mmk' sweaty?
Anthony Parker
>They are weeded out for their actions. So only those with a criminal history will be weeded out? Ok then. Doubtful though.
I still think all the harm everyone think these people cause is a result of press sensationalization. Black communities are safer then they've ever been, and shrinking the military isn't gonna magically ensure no more mosque shootings occur but could very well deprive the fighting force of its most ambitious members when China et al shows up. In other words, white supremacy is doubtlessly in the process being conflated to the point of including any anti-globalists, which is why the vagueness of this directive is concerning. Even feds can be deluded as their ranks continue to retire war-hardended boomers and swap out with the diversity hire millenials who've believed everything they were told in college without so much as a grain of salt.
Also >you only have rights when you don't participate in society because every little contract acts as a waiver Fuck off. (You) or else (((You))) wish. Half the people referred to as ""white supremacists"" just want to prevent that from becoming reality and will elsewise never harm a fly. Nothing in this post is inaccurate and you know it.
Julian Brown

Out of how many scout snipers? You know it's kinda hard to be one, right? But no let's get rid of all 10 of these guys for posting a stupid flag. I mean they might be the real thing after all. Every one of them looks like a white supremacist - especially the black guys.
>dis nigga is seriously implying it's only 10 guys and jarheads don't say racist shit to each other all the time for fun
John Carter
The article you source literally states the dude might face punitive action from the military for wearing communist paraphernalia. A right to free speech doesn't mean your employer, even if it's the government, has to tolerate your speech. One doesn't have a right to work in the government's employ.
Hudson Davis
Nope. He's facing disciplinary action for expressing political views publicly while in uniform. If he had held a sign praising Trump or Biden he would be facing the same disciplinary action. Read the article again, it clearly states that.
Dominic Robinson
>literally states the dude might face punitive action from the military for wearing communist paraphernalia. >wearing communist paraphernalia. Number 1: that is a US military uniform that the motherfucker altered which ISN'T FUCKING REG! You might want to check the part in AR 670-1 that says: >No item governed by this regulation will be altered in any way that changes the basic design, or the intended concept of fit, as described in Technical Manual (TM) 10–227 and Army Regulation (AR) 700–84, including plating, smoothing, or removing detailed features of metal items, or otherwise altering the color or appearance. >This motherfucker seriously thinks it's okay to draw on his uniform.
Number 2: You cannot do political shit in fucking uniform. DOD Directive 1344.10: >Subject to any other restrictions in law, a member of the Armed Forces not on active duty may take the actions or participate in the activities permitted in subparagraph 4.1.1., and may take the actions and participate in the activities prohibited in subparagraph 4.1.2, provided the member is not in uniform and does not otherwise act in a manner that could reasonably give rise to the inference or appearance of official sponsorship, approval, or endorsement.

Far-right infiltrators are a far greater threat to the US than soviet infiltrators ever were.
Robert Cooper
Right, fuck the first amendment. Pass hate speech laws, Richard Spencer and Nick Fuentes should be sent to a gulag.
Sebastian Butler
What's your evidence? What have "far-right infiltrators" ever done that compares to leaking nuclear secrets to the USSR sparking the nuclear arms race?
Christopher Hughes
Organize an attack on the capitol in an attempt to stay in power.

The self-centred American fails to recognize the threat nuclear war poses on the entire world, and focuses on his political clownshow as the most important thing.
Iran having access to nukes is fine, right? Nowhere near the threat a bunch of fat, slovenly inbreds infecting themselves with a virus they don't believe in as they eek and ook and throw their feces through your capital.
I'm surprised though that an American, normally so eager to tout their military dick-size would think their military so ineffective that if their capital was seized their military would immediately surrender, rather than storm said capital and put them down like they do to unarmed shoppers in an Afghani spice store.
Benjamin Gutierrez
Are you memeing? I honestly can't tell at this point if the media has actually convinced itself that these people where inches away from successfully seizing control of the government, or if they are just playing this up for political benefit even though they really know this group of fat, inbreds acted in the heat of the moment and had neither a hope or a plan.

Nicholas Cooper
>That goes counter to the very core principles of democracy No it isn't. You can't have a functioning democracy if you allow those who want to destroy democracy to gain power. How does protecting democracy against an anti-democracy cult counter the core principals of democracy? How could you possible defend the principals of democracy without meaningfully countering those that want it destroyed? Your argument doesn't even make sense on an intuitive level.
Benjamin Walker
> How could you possible defend the principals of democracy without meaningfully countering those that want it destroyed? While there have been democracies that have fallen because those opposing democracy took power, like Venezuela to the socialists or Germany to the national-socialists, you cannot defend democracy by investing the power to dictate what is and isn’t “democratic” to a person/committee/government. They will invariably ban any opposition to their rule or misrule and you end up in a similar place, although the road might be a little longer. It may appear as a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation but as long as no government has the power to silence you, and as long as it is afraid of the people, democracy can thrive. This is why Nixon was the last liberal president of America, not because of his beliefs, policies or conscience, but because he was afraid of the American people when he got caught for the Watergate scandal. Every US president of the 21st century has committed worse crimes than Nixon did, but they’ve been getting away with everything, with next to no pushback. The only exception to this might be Donald Trump with the impeachment but I get the very strong impression that the intent driving that impeachment is ideological and not the well being of democracy, because of all these purges and the rhetoric the democratic party and it’s allies have been pushing in regard to freedom of speech etc. Hopefully all this works out in the end, after all lustration has sort of worked in some eastern european democracies that sought to purge communism, but frankly I don’t expect things to end well in America.
