What people argue against is the age old Republican suppression techniques of making it more difficult for people who they don't want to vote to get specific kinds of IDs and then prohibiting those forms of ID being used for voter identity verification. Incorrect. Firstly, voter ID laws vary state by state. There is no generalized "idea" that's been universally pitched on a national scale. Some states require ID to register and some don't. Secondly, Republicans can't win the popular vote so they do things like close down DMVs in blue districts, prohibit the kinds of IDs that black or poor people are most likely to use or prohibit college IDs from being valid in areas with a large population of college kids. They do this to make it more difficult for people who they don't want to vote. The North Carolina supreme court even went so far as to say that some of the proposed voter ID laws targeted minorities with "surgical precision". You're not just wrong, you're making shit up that didn't happen to justify your wrong position.

Nope. I argue against targeted laws that make it more difficult for certain groups of people to vote. As I said, its the basic concept of equal access. If I close down 50% of the DMVs in a particular city of a few hundred thousand people that severely limits those people from being able to get the IDs necessary to vote. People who live far away from that DMV have to bus across town, take time off of work and potentially wait for several hours in a crowded DMV to get said ID. I don't think that's fair. I don't care about ID laws at all - I care about people's ability to access said ID.

This is also how people know you've not voted yet, and each party has voter monitors that come out to pester you, if you haven't.

Before he passed, I'd join my father, every other year, in his volunteer work for one of those many, many voter monitoring groups, and saw how they worked and interacted with one another..

This is all why, even with a stolen SS#, it's a very bad idea to register to vote, and why the coyotes warn folks not to do it, reminding them that people who get caught using the fake social security numbers, often get ganked in jail, before the outfit can risk having its chain of fraud revealed, for at that point, the feds get involved.
