It gets even more complicated. Madelyne Pryor is a clone of Jean Grey, completely lacking in personal memories, and as such under any MU rules about clones does not have a soul. However, the lead-in to Inferno has her explicitly selling her soul to become the Goblin Queen. That means that not is it possible that the Krakoa resurrectees do have souls, but that they actually have new souls unrelated to that of their original.
