Casuals will love it anyway no matter what generic shit Mappa pimps out. The question is whether it will be an avant-garde passion project or a forgettable trash adaption.
Chainsawman
Yeah that's what I'm worried about, the lack of Maruyama means MAPPA doesn't have as much of a creative edge anymore. I'm hoping a freelance director took interest in the project to approach them, or they shelled out some serious cash to get someone great on board.
A lot of young freelancers applied to work on it apparently so we know it will atleast be be consistent in its animation
We might get a key visual and more staff info at Anime Japan next month. If it's a freelance director we hit the jackpot. None of Mappa's directors are capable of creating something worthwhile.
It's either gonna be a one punch man s1 or disappoint us all so much that I we will cum on MAPPA's reputation's corpse
>we will cum on MAPPA's reputation's corpse
This is what unironically gives me hope. CSM is pretty well revered in Japan, despite being such a new property. If they fuck it up in the wake of the mild SnK backlash, they'll actually be done for.
i kinda hope that they adapt all of part 1 in like roughly 30-36 episodes to keep whatever momentum they have.
I think that one might not entirely be their fault. SNK was a special case in that Bessatsu Shounen wanted the anime done right away so that it would end at the same time as the manga, so it was rushed.
They won't fuck it up to the extent that people will complain about it. Well unless it's CG. But if it's another JJK type production it will be well recieved.
I think you need to be prepared that there's a high chance the devilmen will be CG. Remember that Dorohedoro was in CG because it would be too hard to constantly draw Kaiman's scales
