Unfortunately it’s shit advice. Piano generally has a much more dedicated pool of musicians that truly study the instrument, whereas most guitar players, even in succesful bands, are nothing to mention.
But yes, you can learn an instrument, and you can get really good at it too. Piano is the more musically enlightening one to learn

Thank you everyone I think I’m gonna learn bass and ukulele
Matthew Miller
Why should guitar be more suitable to learning at an older age? That is nonsense

Please don’t learn memeulele, it was cute two decades ago, now it’s just cursed. You will ruin your musicality and charisma permanently
Kayden Hill
Its small and easy to carry around, girls love it and it has such a sweet sound

I am not going to lie man uke is a meme. Just learn acoustic guitar instead. Women do not like uke as much as you think they do, and they really just think it's cute, not hot. That's just my experience though. Acoustic guitar is prettier, more impressive, still pretty easy to carry around to places and play, and not too difficult to learn to play at an average skill level (open and bar chords).

some people pick up the violin at 60

Ive tried to teach myself how to play guitar but I suck... Chords can be confusing, my fingertips hurt and I get discouraged all the time. Guitar is pretty easy Im simply retarded thats it
Thomas Perry
You can do it if you try. The fingertip stuff literally just requires a few months of consistent practice to get over. As for understanding chords better, learning at least basic chords on piano will help you understand the concept of chords better and help you understand how they work on guitar better. However, if you can learn a G chord, an A chord, a D chord, and an E chord (all of which are no kidding easy enough for a todler to be able to do them, seriously no matter your skill level you can do these) you open yourself up to being able to play a fuckload. From there, you can also already play E minor, since it's just removing a finger, A minor, since it's just moving a shape you already know, and D minor, since again it's just moving one finger. If you can do this, to 90% of people you will be indistinguishable to someone who really knows what they are dong to 90% of people. Either way user, good luck.

Thank you so so much user, youre such a kind person (unironically)
